Our client is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to add to their accounting team within the construction industry. This role will partner closely with operations and project teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong financial controls.
Responsibilities
- Lead month-end and year-end close and financial reporting
- Oversee general ledger, reconciliations, and journal entries
- Manage job costing, WIP reporting, and project accounting
- Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial analysis
- Partner with operations and project leaders on financial performance
- Maintain internal controls and ensure GAAP compliance
- Coordinate audit activities and supporting documentation
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Progressive accounting experience, preferably within construction or a project-based environment
- Experience with job costing, WIP, and revenue recognition
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with a large ERP system
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
