Title: Staff Accountant
Location: Scottsdale, AZ
Setting: Onsite
Compensation: Up to $85k + 5% annual bonus + 401K matching (100% on first 3% and then 50% on next 2%)
About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Inventory & Accounting Analyst to support inventory management, purchasing processes, operational compliance, and accounting activities within a growing organization. This role partners closely with operations, procurement, and finance teams to ensure accurate reporting, process consistency, and effective internal controls.
The ideal candidate enjoys working in a collaborative environment, has strong analytical skills, and can successfully manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Support inventory control activities, physical inventory counts, reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Assist operations personnel with inventory, purchasing, and materials-related processes and inquiries
- Collaborate with accounting, procurement, operations, and other departments on process improvements and cross-functional initiatives
- Prepare reporting and analysis to support operational and financial decision-making
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, standardization, accuracy, and compliance
- Support month-end close activities and ensure deadlines are met
- Review, research, and resolve discrepancies within financial records and reports
- Partner with internal and external auditors by providing supporting documentation and requested information
- Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as needed
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 1-4 years of accounting, finance, inventory, or related experience
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
Preferred
- Public accounting experience
- Experience working with ERP systems in a manufacturing, distribution, logistics, construction, or operations-focused environment
- Experience supporting inventory and operational accounting processes
