Staff Accountant 1Micro-Tronics is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant 1 to support day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close activities. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, performing reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow within a collaborative finance team while gaining exposure to a wide range of accounting functions.Key ResponsibilitiesDaily / WeeklyPrepare and record journal entries (cash, accruals, reclasses)Perform bank and credit card reconciliationsProcess accounts payable (AP), including invoice coding and weekly check runsSupport accounts receivable (AR), including cash applications and postingsMaintain general ledger (GL) activity and account accuracyReview and validate employee expense reportsMonth-End CloseAssist with month-end close activities and journal entriesReconcile balance sheet accounts (prepaids, accruals, fixed assets, etc.)Maintain and roll forward supporting schedulesAssist with variance analysis and financial reporting supportEnsure proper documentation and audit trails are maintainedCompliance & ReportingMaintain organized financial records and documentationEnsure adherence to internal controls and accounting policiesAssist with sales tax or indirect tax filingsSupport year-end 1099 preparation and reportingAdditional ResponsibilitiesSupport internal and external audits (PBC requests, schedules)Research and resolve accounting discrepancies or issuesAssist with process improvements and system enhancementsSupport ad hoc financial analysis, budgeting, and special projectsQualifications2+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing settingStrong understanding of GAAP fundamentalsExperience with general ledger accounting and reconciliationsEducation:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field requiredSkills & CompetenciesStrong attention to detail and accuracySolid analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesStrong communication and collaboration skillsTechnical Skills:Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar)Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas)Familiarity with AP/expense tools (e.g., Concur, Bill.com) is a plusPerformance Metrics (KPIs)Timely and accurate completion of month-end closeAccuracy and quality of financial dataProductivity and efficiencyCompliance with internal controls and policiesBENEFITS:At Micro-Tronics, we recognize how important your career and benefits are to you and your family.
