Stacker OperatorThe Stacker Operator plays a critical role in supporting corrugator and converting operations by safely operating and assisting with stacker and related equipment. This position ensures product quality, workplace safety, and production efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, quality-driven, and eager to grow within the organization.How You Will Impact Smurfit WestrockSafety & ComplianceFollow all required safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout, PPE usage (safety shoes and hearing protection), and safe material handling practices.Maintain constant awareness of moving machinery, nip points, conveyors, stop buttons, and guarding systems.Correctly use and maintain guards, gates, chains, and safety devices always.Immediately shut down equipment and notify supervision if unsafe conditions, malfunctions, or major issues occur.Operational Support & Equipment SetupOperate and assist with stacker equipment and support operators across multiple machines as needed.Assist with equipment setup and changeovers, including:Installing dies, attachments, and printing plates (as applicable)Setting pull rolls, collars, straps, scores, heads, and blade combinationsSetting and adjusting Prefeeder and Lead Edge FeederAdjusting pressures and registeringOperating and monitoring glue and ink systemsSetting folding rails, squaring sections, and ejectorsAccurately follow Factory Orders and production specifications.Perform required quality checks, including:First-piece dimensional and print inspectionsIn-process quality inspectionsInk color and viscosity checksVerification of proper box folding and completionTake corrective action or escalate issues to ensure customer quality requirements are met.What You Need to SucceedRequired Skills & AbilitiesAbility to read and interpret basic instructions, safety procedures, Factory Orders, and machine manuals.Proficiency in basic math and the ability to accurately read a tape measure.Mechanical aptitude with strong attention to detail.Understanding safe work practices in a manufacturing environment.Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume production settingWillingness to perform preventive maintenance (PMs) as assigned.Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and Saturdays as required.
