Akkodis is seeking Sr. VS Code Extension Developer/Git Migration Specialist for a Contract to Hire contract position with our Fortune 500 banking client.
Locations: Manhattan, NY or Jersey City, NJ

What this person will actually do:
- Design, build, and scale VS-Code extensions used by the internal developer population, not end users of the trading platform itself
- Lead or heavily support the migration from the legacy version control tool to Git, including custom migration tooling
- Work inside the CI/CD and release pipeline that DevEx owns for Quartz.
- Operate independently, senior IC, no ramp-up runway expected.
Drive a large-scale migration from a legacy version control system to Git 🔹 Design, build, and maintain custom developer tooling used across the enterprise 🔹 Develop and enhance VS Code extensions utilized daily by thousands of developers 🔹 Work across Source Control, CI/CD, and Release Management processes 🔹 Collaborate with engineering teams to modernize development workflows and increase productivity 🔹 Make a direct impact on one of the largest internal developer ecosystems in financial services.
Required:
- Deep, hands-on VS-Code extension development experience. This is not negotiable and is the single most important filter.
- Strong Git experience, ideally including migration work from another VCS to Git at scale
- JavaScript / Node.js proficiency
- 8-10+ years software engineering experience
- Comfortable working senior, independent, low oversight
Desired Skills:
- Nice to have, not required Python
- C#, treat as a plus
