Level 3 Telecommunications Engineer – AvayaHealthcare Systems Migration | Nationwide TravelWe are seeking a highly experienced Level 3 Telecommunications Engineer with deep Avaya expertise to support a large, nationwide hospital migration from legacy phone systems. This is a long-term, travel-heavy engagement focused on on-site assessments, validation, and documentation across hospital campuses throughout the U.S.Each hospital location will require 1–2 weeks onsite. All travel time and expenses are paid.

This role is ideal for a senior, field-oriented engineer who is comfortable in active healthcare environments and has hands-on experience with enterprise telephony systems.Role OverviewYou will serve as a senior field resource supporting pre-migration site surveys and infrastructure validation for hospital telephony environments. This work is physically active and detail-driven, requiring full days on hospital campuses documenting existing systems, identifying risks, and communicating findings to the project team.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform on-site telecommunications surveys across hospital campusesDocument existing Avaya and legacy telephony environments, including:Phone set models and device typesStation locations and workstation configurationsWall jacks, patching, and associated infrastructureAncillary or undocumented equipmentIdentify and flag:Inconsistencies between documentation and realityInfrastructure gaps or risks that may impact migrationAccurately capture findings using provided templates and toolsCommunicate discoveries, concerns, or anomalies clearly to the project leadMaintain professionalism and awareness in active healthcare settingsRequired ExperienceSenior-level experience supporting Avaya telephony systems in enterprise or healthcare environmentsStrong understanding of:Legacy PBX and hybrid phone systemsStation provisioning and endpoint identificationCross-connects, frames, and related infrastructurePrior experience performing site surveys or infrastructure documentationComfortable working in environments with limited or outdated documentationPhysical RequirementsOn your feet for full workdays, walking hospital floors and campusesAble to sustain physically active work for consecutive daysComfortable bending, reaching, and accessing workstations, closets, and telecom roomsSchedule & TravelNationwide travel requiredEach site typically requires 1–2 weeks onsiteStandard schedule is Monday–FridayExtended days may be required depending on site conditions and progressSchedule adjustments may be identified mid-week as neededIdeal Candidate TraitsHighly dependable and able to commit to full site engagementsDetail-oriented with strong documentation habitsComfortable operating independently in the fieldClear communicator with project leads and technical teamsExperienced working in hospital or healthcare environments
