Lead system-level design, integration, and validation of hardware, software, and control components across product lines
Define system architecture, requirements, and technical specifications to support new product development and enhancements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, product management, manufacturing, quality) to deliver integrated solutions
Drive root cause analysis and resolution of complex system issues to improve performance and reliability
Support product lifecycle activities, including concept development, prototyping, testing, and production launch
Develop and maintain system documentation, including design reviews, test plans, and technical reports
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal engineering best practices
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the engineering organization
Partner with global teams to align on system architecture, best practices, and standardization initiatives
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aligned with ESAB Business Excellence (EBX)
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred)
7+ years of experience in systems engineering, product development, or related technical discipline
Strong knowledge of system architecture, integration, and validation methodologies
Experience working with embedded systems, controls, or industrial automation technologies preferred
Proven ability to lead complex technical projects and collaborate across global, cross-functional teams
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
Proficiency with engineering tools and systems modeling techniques (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, or similar tools preferred)
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed
Working Conditions
Remains in a stationary position up to 50% of the time; involves walking, standing, and occasional physical activity such as stooping and climbing stairs
Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working in or visiting manufacturing and plant environments
Frequently operates a computer and other office productivity equipment (laptops, mobile devices, etc.)
May be required to move or transport equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
Exposure to varying environmental conditions during travel and site visits
Travel required approximately 25-40% depending on project needs
