Senior Systems AdministratorYour role at GEI. As a Senior Systems Administrator for GEI you will serve as the technical and subject matter expert in maintaining the network and server infrastructure. You must be able to establish, maintain and increase user satisfaction through professional, courteous and thoughtful organizational support. Essential Responsibilities & DutiesProvide administration for all aspects of network operations including servers, Active Directory, group policy, MS 365, security, cloud services, firewalls, VPN, routing, switching, network segmentation, wireless, backups, IPSec and content filtering.Cloud ManagementNetwork and server monitoringOn premise, SAN and cloud server virtualizationDatabase managementConduct daily infrastructure assessmentsManage Group Policy and Active DirectoryOffice 365 administrationEvaluate new technologies for possible implementationMaintain hardware and software license complianceCoordinate with I.T. Security Team to develop and maintain corporate security policiesTrain and educate end users on proper security techniques, trends and proceduresWorkstation deployment and troubleshootingRespond to end user helpdesk support requests from local and remote usersSecurity vulnerability, Intrusion Prevention and remediationImplement security improvementsKeep up to date with the latest threats and attack methodsMaintaining and creating documentationManage vendor relationshipsComputer lifecycle management, hardware acquisition and inventory managementMinimum QualificationsAssociates Degree (or equivalent) required.
Bachelor's Degree preferred.8+ years of IT experience as a Systems Engineer/Administrator in an SMB/Enterprise environment8+ years supporting a cloud focused hybrid cloud/on premise IT infrastructure preferably utilizing MS Azure8+ years supporting Active Directory8+ years supporting Microsoft Office 3658+ years supporting Cisco (or equivalent) Firewalls, routers, and switches8+ years of providing excellent desktop and end user supportSelf-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and manage changing prioritiesWillingness to work outside normal business hours and travel when requiredStrong English oral and written communication skillsStrong analytical skills with proven project management skillsAbility to convey technical concepts in a clear and concise manner to non-technical personnelStrong understanding of Active Directory and Group PolicyStrong understanding of Microsoft AzureSupport VMware environmentUnderstanding of IT Security Controls (NIST 800-171, CMMC, SOC-2 or equivalent)Understanding of Veeam and/or Rubrik Backup SoftwareUnderstanding of Fortinet FirewallsITIL Foundation certification a plusSecurity+, Network+, MCSE, CCNA R/S or CCNA Security certifications a plusWe are GEI.
