Sr. Systems Administrator, Operational Technology SystemsWe're looking for a technically skilled and collaborative Sr. Systems Administrator, Operational Technology Systems to support and improve the critical systems that power electric utility operations. This role supports Operational Technology (OT) platforms including ADMS, OMS, SCADA, Advanced Systems, Mobile Field Client technologies, and OT/IT integrations such as IVR and AMI.Working closely with Operations, Engineering, and Technology teams, this position helps ensure OT systems are reliable, secure, and aligned with business and operational goals.
The role includes troubleshooting and supporting critical production systems, leading system upgrades and improvement initiatives, coordinating with vendors and stakeholders, and contributing to ongoing grid modernization and operational technology projects.Compensation:The anticipated hiring range is between $115,000 - 150,885. The final compensation offered is based on the selected candidate's qualifications, experience and skill level. In addition, this position is eligible for an annual bonus with a target payout of 8% based on company performance.In this position, you will:Production Support & System AnalysisProvide Tier 2/3 support for critical OT systems to minimize downtime and operational impactTroubleshoot system issues, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate resolution with internal teams and vendorsMonitor system health, conduct log analysis, and support recovery activitiesPerform patch management, change management, and ongoing system maintenanceBuild and maintain strong working relationships with software vendors and business stakeholdersParticipate in an on-call support rotationSystem Upgrades, Modernization & Project LeadershipResearch, plan, test, and implement software patches and version upgradesLead OT-related software upgrade and implementation projects while coordinating cross-functional teams and IT resourcesCoordinate testing activities, including user testing and user acceptance testing (UAT)Educate business stakeholders on OT platform capabilities such as ADMS and AMIFollow established change management methodologies and adoption frameworksSupport quality assurance activities including requirements validation, test planning, and test case executionStrategic Systems Support & Business CollaborationDevelop expertise in OT business systems and recommend strategic technology improvementsSupport configuration updates and enhancements to resolve operational business issuesPartner with business units to identify operational and process requirementsDocument business processes and support continuous improvement initiativesStay informed on emerging technologies and utility industry best practicesNeed to have:Associate degree in computer sciences or related fieldSeven or more years of hands-on OT / IT infrastructure work including systems like SCADA.Five or more years of experience with ADMS or OMS systems.Five or more years of direct user interaction experience.Current and valid driver's licenseORBachelor's degree in computer sciences or related fieldFive or more years of hands-on OT / IT infrastructure work including systems like SCADA.Three or more years of experience with ADMS or OMS systems.Three or more years of direct user interaction experienceCurrent and valid driver's licensePre-Employment Requirement: Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a pre-employment background check and drug screenBased in Ramsey, Connexus Energy is Minnesota's largest electric cooperative, providing electricity, renewable energy alternatives and related services to 150,000 residential and commercial members just north of the Twin Cities.
