If you're looking for a company that embraces the principles of respect, compassion, and trust, please apply with us today!The Sr. Systems Administrator will be responsible for monitoring and supporting all components of desktop technology.Schedule: Regular business hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through FridayAdditional Compensation and Benefits:Medical, Dental, and Vision insurances from premium providers401K with matchingCompany paid Accident and Disability Insurance, Long Term Disability Insurance, EAP, and Travel AssistanceTuition ReimbursementPaid Time Off, Wellness Days, and Sick DaysAdditional benefits such as identity theft protection, flexible spending accounts, pre-tax commuter benefits, and more.Day To Day:Responsible for monitoring and supporting all components of desktop technologyResponsible for the operation and maintenance of the hardware and the OS of all Windows-based workstations and serversResponsible for Infrastructure Support Tickets and as an escalation resource for the Help Desk AnalystsCreates, maintains, and makes ongoing revisions to desktop-related processes, procedures, and documentation on software and hardware deployments, account administration, and helpdesk tasksDevelops and maintains a comprehensive set of Windows workstation and laptop images as well as thin client images to be used throughout all sitesDevelops and maintains scripts and utilizes desktop management solutions to create a more efficient environmentDeploys, administers, and performance tunes workstation group policies related to system hardening procedures and policiesEvaluates and recommends technologies that can improve and streamline existing processesTroubleshoots and provides solutions to hardware and software problemsInstalls, upgrades, repairs, and removes hardware and software as necessaryProvides training and mentorship for desktop technicians on technologies of multiple disciplinesManages VDI images, testing and rollout of new images and application related upgrades or updatesActs as project lead in large-scale enterprise-wide hardware and software rollout/migration projects.

Plans the analysis, evaluation, testing, implementation, integration, and migration strategy for deployment. Defines and implements complicated technical solutions that satisfy business requirements and align with corporate, project, and budgetary objectivesLeads large, complex projects over long time frames, which may extend 6 to 18 months in lengthMonitors and supports application, database, and server backupsPerforms monthly application releases, updates and patchingTroubleshoots and provides solutions to hardware and software problems and upgrade computer hardware and software as neededMaintains server operating systems and functional differences between operating system vendors and versionsAdministers, monitors, and maintains system for the Company in all environmentsAssists system administration team with server provisioning using VMware virtual machine templatesSupports the planning of and performance of disaster recoveryAssists in projects as assigned by IT managementComplies with policies and procedures as required by compliance standardsPerformance tunes and reviews systems as appropriateWhat You Must Possess:Must Have:High School Diploma required. Some college, preferredCertifications including: Comp TIA A+, Server+, Security+, Network+Minimum of three years' experience in a Systems Admin role encompassing the following:Experience in a helpdesk or service desk environment supporting over 500 users: IT administration with Microsoft Windows 10.PC imaging and hardware deployment, group policy, workstation setup, remote assistance, Microsoft Active Directory and DNS preferred.Active Directory DNS/DHCP in a multi-site environmentCreation and administration of group policies to adhere to security standards and insurance of compliance standardsRole Based Access ControlVMware Horizon VDI, VDEM and AppVolumeNetworking General understanding of IP network and routing technologiesSecurity Standards CIS/DISA, PCI-DSS, SOC, HIPAAAt least one year of experience with Windows 2012R2 or aboveAdditional Skills:Ability to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and an ability to work well with a diverse workforceStrong ability to prioritize work appropriately, be flexible and well organizedExceptional analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to think out of the box and implement smart solutions to ever changing company needsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent customer service skillsWhy Harris & Harris?Harris & Harris is a premier, full-service revenue recovery firm headquartered and founded in Chicago, IL.
