SR. SUPPLY CHAIN DIRECTOR
2A - Directors Office Executive/Senior Lvl Mount Pleasant, TX, US
POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Director, Supply Chain is a senior operational leadership role responsible for translating Diamond C's business and production requirements into an executable, reliable, and cost-effective supply plan.
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Supply Chain, this position provides day-to-day leadership and functional oversight of SIOP, Production Planning, Inventory Control, Strategic Sourcing, and Procurement across Diamond C's manufacturing operations.
The Senior Director is responsible for ensuring that the right material is available, in the right quantity, at the right location, and at the right time to support production while balancing inventory investment, supplier performance, working capital, cost, and operational risk.
This is not primarily an administrative supply chain role. The Senior Director is expected to be highly engaged with manufacturing operations, understand the flow of material from supplier through receiving, inventory, fabrication, welding, powder coat, final assembly, and finished production, and lead the organization in preventing supply disruptions before they affect the production line.
The position serves as the principal operational leader for the Supply Chain organization and as a key cross‑functional partner to Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Sales, IT, and NPI.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Establish effective daily, weekly, and monthly operating rhythms across Supply Chain.
Develop managers and future leaders capable of supporting continued growth and increased operational complexity.
Establish standard work, documented processes, escalation protocols, and measurable expectations throughout the organization.
Promote fact‑based problem solving, root‑cause analysis, continuous improvement, and disciplined execution.

Responsibilities include:
Convert sales forecasts, order demand, backlog, production capacity, inventory positions, supplier constraints, and business objectives into an executable supply plan.
Ensure alignment between Sales demand, Operations capacity, Supply Chain capability, and inventory requirements.
Establish appropriate planning horizons for short-, medium-, and long‑range material requirements.
Identify demand/capacity/material imbalances before they become production constraints.
Lead supply reviews supporting the broader SIOP process.
Establish clear assumptions regarding demand, lead times, supplier capacity, inventory, safety stock, and production requirements.
Drive resolution of gaps between forecasted demand and available supply.
Improve forecast consumption and planning discipline.
Ensure significant supply constraints have documented mitigation plans, owners, and recovery dates.

Provide leadership for material and production planning supporting Diamond C manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities include:
Ensure production schedules are supported by confirmed material availability.

Develop planning practices that reduce unnecessary schedule changes and production instability.
Ensure planners maintain close working relationships with Operations and understand actual production conditions.
Improve MRP discipline, planning parameters, lead times, lot sizes, order policies, and master data.
Monitor material readiness for upcoming production schedules.
Ensure shortages are identified early enough to allow Procurement, Sourcing, Inventory Control, or Operations to take corrective action.
Measure planning effectiveness through schedule attainment, shortage frequency, expedites, material‑related downtime, and other appropriate KPIs.
4. Inventory Control
Own inventory accuracy, control, availability, and working‑capital performance throughout Diamond C manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities include:
Establish and maintain an effective cycle‑counting program.

Monitor tariffs, trade actions, logistics disruptions, commodity movements, and other external factors that may affect Diamond C's material cost or availability.
Drive measurable cost optimization without sacrificing quality, delivery reliability, or operational resilience.
Establish effective phase‑in/phase‑out controls when changing suppliers or components.
6. Procurement
Ensure Procurement executes material requirements accurately, efficiently, and with appropriate supplier accountability.
Responsibilities include:
Establish clear buyer ownership and accountability by commodity, supplier, and/or manufacturing location.
Ensure purchase orders accurately reflect required quantities, dates, pricing, terms, and delivery locations.

Reduce unnecessary premium freight and expedite activity.
Ensure supplier commitments are visible to Planning and Operations.
Improve Purchase Order and ERP transactional accuracy.
Ensure buyers understand production priorities and the operational consequences of supplier failures.
Develop procurement processes capable of supporting Diamond C's growth without unnecessary increases in inventory or transactional complexity.
7. Supplier Performance and Development
Establish supplier scorecards covering delivery, quality, cost, responsiveness, capacity, and risk.
Establish and enforce supplier OTD expectations.
Conduct regular supplier business reviews.
Require formal corrective actions for significant or recurring supplier failures.
Escalate chronic supplier performance issues and develop replacement‑source strategies where appropriate.
Develop strategic relationships with key suppliers.
Conduct supplier site visits and capability reviews for critical suppliers.
Monitor supplier financial, operational, geographic, capacity, and continuity risks.
Ensure significant supplier risks have documented mitigation plans.
Partner with suppliers on productivity, cost reduction, lead‑time reduction, quality improvement, and capacity planning.

A central expectation of this position is preventing Supply Chain issues from reaching Diamond C production operations.
The Senior Director will:
Establish proactive material‑risk identification processes.
Maintain visibility of critical shortages and potential production constraints.
