Sr. Staff Engineer Systems (T39506)Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is currently seeking a Sr. Staff Engineer Systems to serve as the Integrated Product Team Lead for the Stand-in Attack Weapon (SiAW) Program General Electronic Unit (GEU).This position can be located at our Northridge, CA, Linthicum, MD or Tucson, AZ, locations. There is no remote/hybrid/telework available for this position. Relocation assistance, while not guaranteed, may be available.In this critical role, the Sr. Staff Engineer Systems will lead a cross-functional team through the development, validation and transition to production of the SiAW General Electronic Unit (GEU). The selected candidate will serve as the technical authority, driving system-level decisions and ensuring that all requirements are met. The selected candidate will act as the primary interface with internal stakeholders, and business leadership to ensure the successful development, integration, and test program for the USAF SiAW Program.Success in this role will reflect extensive experience in leading and managing technical teams through all phases of the engineering development lifecycle for RF-centric systems such as RADAR and Electronic Warfare (EW).
Experience with system architecture and design, sensor performance simulation and analysis are necessary as this position will require technical leadership and know-how in developing and transitioning concepts from Technology Development to Engineering Manufacturing Development (EMD) to Full Rate Production.
Skills and experience in multi-discipline engineering, systems integration and test are preferred.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Serve as the Integrated Product Team Lead (IPT) for the General Electronic Unit.Serve as the Technical Authority for all aspects of the technical efforts across the business unit's program portfolio.Support internal program and business leadership by preparing and delivering technical briefs, program reviews, risk assessments, and product roadmaps.Act as the primary point of contact for the GEU subsystem, working closely with program management, supply chain management, and engineering functional management to align the technical execution and deliverables with overall business objectives.Serve as the Technical Authority to government and customer stakeholders by preparing and briefing status of development and production, risks, and product roadmaps during customer meetings.Provide clear technical direction to the cross-functional engineering team, ensuring development and production goals are met, risks are mitigated, and issues are driven to timely closure.Drive the definition, development, and allocation of requirements in support of design and manufacturability improvements, and ensure the seamless integration of upgrades into production programs.Act as the technical authority to technical readiness reviews, engineering change orders and related technical data package revisions, root-cause and correction actions (RCCA), and continuous improvement activities.Support proposal development and substantiation of related contract activities.Identify capital, facility, and other resource requirements to secure discretionary funding to support development and transition to production needs.Coach and develop team by providing an environment that encourages ongoing professional growth.Basic Qualifications:BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent with 14 Years with Bachelors; 12 Years with Masters; 9 Years with PhD.Prior IPT/Cam experiencePrior experience as primary technical lead in development of Electronic Warfare, RADAR, or other RF-centric systems and subsystems.Prior experience serving as organization spokesperson on advanced projects with direct impact on the business performance objectives.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with related disciplines and teams.Excellent problem-solving abilities with a track record of developing innovative solutions.US Citizen with an active U.S. Government DOD Secret Clearance.Preferred Qualifications:MS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent.Experience with estimating tasking including authoring and approving Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for Proposals.Demonstrated history of technical progression leading to engineering leadership position.Experience in Missile Development and/or Airborne Systems.Experience in transition from Technology Development to EMD, EMD to Limited Rate Production and product life-cycle engineering.Experience in EVMSalary Range: $162,500.00 - $282,200.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
