Sr. Staff AccountantPlayfly Sports is looking for an Sr. Staff Accountant to join our team in Berwyn, PA. The Finance team supports Playfly Sports' various marketing and media divisions, collaborating with all organizational levels to assist with financial operations. This role will focus on general ledger and transactional accounting with an emphasis on revenue recognition policy and recording.
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in multiple businesses, working with each division on adhering to its revenue recognition policy. This provides the opportunity for initiative and judgment in executing accounting processes, procedures and financial reporting that supports timely and accurate decision making.What You'll AccomplishEnsure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, and entering transactionsMaintain revenue recognition schedules for each business unit and coordinate information with division finance leadsReview contracts to ensure proper revenue recognitionLead efforts to establish and/or review revenue recognition policies and proceduresPrepare and record journal entries for multiple business units by compiling and analyzing account informationMaintain subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepanciesHold monthly meetings with business partnersAssist with schedules and analysis for Media division balance sheet accountsAssist in external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditorsSupport and consult company's personnel on accounting control proceduresEnsure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP requirementsSupport business processes and accounting policies and prepare corresponding documentationOther job-related duties as assignedWhat You'll BringBachelor's degree in accounting or financeMinimum of 3+ years of relevant experiencePublic accounting experience and/or CPA designation a plusThorough knowledge of basic accounting processes and procedures (GAAP)Strong financial acumen and analytical skillsExperience with accounting systems; NetSuite experience a plusProficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office productsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExceptional attention to detailAbility to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentStrong critical thinking skills and the ability to exercise independent judgmentTravel, Lifting, Physical RequirementsThis role is a sedentary role and takes place in a quiet-office settingWhat We DoPlayfly Sports is the full-service, leading sports marketing and media company that enables brands to engage with sports fans on a local, regional, and national level through scaled linear, digital, and experiential assets.
