Immediate Payments Business AnalystImmediate payments represent the first fundamentally new payment capability in the U.S. in over 40 years. It is the result of modern technology being applied to payments to deliver the "always on, instant gratification" experience consumers and businesses have come to appreciate. RTP and FedNow are the two Instant Payment rails in the US. RTP launched in 2017 and is now being used by about 250 Financial Institutions.
FedNow launches in 2023 and, while similar to RTP, will have different capabilities and aspirations. Between these two rails and other efforts to speed up payments there is no doubt that immediate payments will be a significant part of the US payments landscape. Customer plays a critical part in industry innovation when it comes to Immediate, Digital, and Tokenized payments, and the Immediate Payments Business Analysis team is seeking an experienced Business Analyst who has worked in the financial services industry and possesses in-depth knowledge of payment services. The candidate would join a fast paced and growing organization, being responsible for working closely with product managers and tech leads to assist in a variety of tasks. Candidate must be able to work with a growing team of technologists in a fast paced and highly ambiguous environment bursting with new technologies.
Possessing the ability to work collaboratively across organizational boundaries, within the team and across companies, by building and maintaining positive relationships is extremely important. As a senior business systems analyst, your role is to identify and investigate business and system requirements in support of complex payment systems. This candidate will be working closely with both business and technology key stakeholders. Self-starter that manages multiple initiatives, including problem solving, analyzing business process, executing the collection, elicitation and recording of business requirements (Agile user stories) for strategic or tactical development efforts.Responsibilities:Evaluate and analyze activities creating process workflows, screen mock-ups, use cases and descriptive documentation that supports the end-to-end enhancement lifecycle process.Consult with Product/Business to define necessary system enhancements to implement new or update existing features and processLeads/coordinates system change process from requirements through implementationAbility to conduct activities and perform tasks related to unit, System Integrated and UAT testing. Review test scripts.Support production releases and onboarding of clients.Oversee process for technical issue escalation and prioritize technical issue resolutionPerform root cause analysis, identify defects/bugs and recommend course of action – effectively use complex analytical interpretive and problem-solving techniquesUnderstands Payment solutions and apply knowledge to data analysis, processes improvement and problem resolution.
Knowledge of Volpay is a plus.Collaborating with Immediate Payments, Tokenized Payments and other digital business partners to identify and implement appropriate solutions.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required.10+ years of experience in business analysis required.Highly proficient in writing user and system stories and supporting documentation - business process and system workflowsIn depth understanding of Agile/SCRUM methodologiesProficiency in Jira/Confluence/MS OfficeProven capacity to lead clarification and 'translation' of less-technical documentation and/or requirements into highly technical subject-matterExtensive knowledge of software engineering and object-oriented designStrong communication and collaboration skills are important for this role. Candidate must be able to communicate effectively to multiple audiences from both technical and business perspectivesDemonstrated leadership and management skillsSolid knowledge of the Payments Industry – Previous experience working with one or more US payment rails such as TCH Real Time Payments, FedNow, Tokenized Payments - Zelle, Digital Wallets or Digital Cards is required.
