From supporting 2.5 billion active Apple devices to securing every transaction, download, and interaction, IS&T makes the impossible feel effortless.ResponsibilitiesLead brainstorming sessions to gather/understand requirementsPerform high-level systems impact analysis for new initiativesImplement prototype and/or verify conceptsDeliver scalable, high-quality, end-to-end solutions in collaboration with stakeholders, engineering, and cross-functional teamsCreate high-level and low-level design artifactsConduct architecture reviews and executive briefings for high-impact projectsEnsure proper requirement traceability and delivery during development and integration testingProvide solution hand-off and training for the new features to operations and production support teamsWork with other architects to standardize architectures and establish an architecture governance framework across the organization.Develop product roadmaps and identify new use cases.Navigate and execute in an environment of ambiguity and lead teams to the successful delivery of solutionsManage multiple global efforts simultaneouslyMinimum Qualifications7+ years proven experience developing software in a professional capacity. Longer experience preferred.2+ years proven experience with Java, including proficiency in concurrency, memory management, and performance optimization techniques.Proficiency in OOP principles, data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns (e.g. GoF), with a proven focus on implementing testable, maintainable, and extensible backend code.B.S.
in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional work experience.Preferred QualificationsTrack record of leading software projects within a team as a tech lead (TL), while mentoring software engineers.Hands-on experience leveraging GenAI coding tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot, Codex) to accelerate the software development lifecycle, enhance code quality, and streamline debugging and testing processes.Apple is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to inclusion and diversity.
