Sr. SAP PP/Product Costing EngineerThe Sr. SAP PP/Product Costing Engineer serves as a support and project person for production planning, Variant Products, plant maintenance and CO product costing related SAP projects, problems, and questions.
The Sr. PP Product Costing Engineer is expected to support a stable system environment for XYZ SAP and its integrated platforms. He/She will be required to support all related business projects and members of the IT team responsible for the implementation of all new business processes and project implementations.
The Sr. SAP PP/Product Costing Engineer must know how to leverage SAP to support best practices with a proven understanding of process integration within SD, MM, PP, VC, PM, WH, FI and CO areas. This position will be required to work on assignments that are complex in nature where considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations to improve XYZ's business processes.Must Have Experience and Knowledge:Overall solution ownership and responsibility for Production Planning, Plant Maintenance and CO Product Costing functionality of XYZ including Variant ConfiguratorExperience to Configure and support VC (Variant Configuration)This position will interface and work closely with Product Management/Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Logistics, to build a series of SAP based configuration files required to support the growing businessBuild Bill of Material (BOM) and Routings to support Variant Configurations in SAP System.
Write complex object dependencies in BOM's such as selection conditions (using variant tables as necessary), work with class items, writing dependencies for routings and operationsExperience in building the configurable productsSupport the implementation of all new business functions and processes for XYZSupport the daily business requirements and/or initiatives at XYZWork with IT team across all functional teams using a collaborative approach to build and support best practice solutions to support XYZWork with business counterparts to assess requirements and deliver solutions that are enabling capabilities to support IT strategy and overall XYZ's business objectivesConfigure and support PP – Discrete and Continuous ManufacturingExperience with Make-to-Stock and Make-to-Order processesThorough understanding of Production Orders, Plant Maintenance Orders, Order Types, Bill of Material, Routings, Work Centers etc. and its integration with CO Product CostingExperience in the areas of MRP and Capacity planningThorough understanding of Product Costing areas such as Costing run, Settlement Profiles, Costing Sheets, Production Overheads, Work in process, Variances and SettlementDocument functional requirements, develop functional specs for program changes, make configuration settings, perform testing, conduct system demos and work with users providing training and testing supportEnsure solution integration and integrity within the process areas to formalize participation, roles & responsibilities, and accountabilitiesSkills and Abilities:Minimum 10 years' configuration and implementation experience in SAP's application areas of PP (Production Planning), VC (Variant Configuration), PM (Plant Maintenance), CO-PC (Product Costing Areas of Controlling) utilizing Best Business Practice MethodologiesMinimum 6 years' experience in an Analyst or team lead roleMinimum of 4 full life cycle implementations including blueprinting, configuration, testing, training and post implementation support within the PP, VC, PM, and CO-PC functional areasCapability to partner with process owner organization and key stakeholders on solution design/implementation guiding designs to achieve best practicesAnalyze and evaluate requirements for systems solutions that improve business processes and increase productivityOversee production support responsibilities within area of responsibility making sure adherence to service levels, governance procedures, and documentation standardsPrepare detailed functional specifications for development activities including reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and formsFacilitate knowledge transfer, communication and interaction between various functional organizations and the Information Technology departmentProactively participate in the integration between related SAP functions with other Business AnalystsStrong integrative cross-module knowledge between Sales, Purchasing, Inventory Management, Variant Configuration, Finance, Production and Supply Chain (SD, MM, PP, VC, FI, CO and WH)Good organizational and presentation skills with good attention to detail requiredStrong communications and problem-solving skillsStrong 'people' skills are essential to ensure customer satisfactionGood understanding of consumer products business model or global models in a consumer products organizationGood understanding of various SAP system landscapesAbility to work with multiple priorities in delivery and project organizationsAdvanced Knowledge in Microsoft Office ApplicationsAbility to travel 10% of the timeEducation and Training:BS/MS in Business, Engineering, Accounting, Computer Science, or othersSAP Certification in PP, VC, PM, or CO-PC a plus
