nJob Description: Binergy Scientific is a top innovator in the field of electrochemistry, energy storage, material science and sensors with primary focus on defense applications. We develop cutting-edge electrochemical power sources, thermal components, innovative materials, biosensors, and devices for emerging defense applications, munitions, hypersonic vehicles, and other systems. Our work focus ranges from development of initial concepts, laboratory demonstration, and fieldable prototypes covering TRL 1 to 7.
nWe are seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong background in computational simulation, material science, mechanical engineering, electrochemistry, or relevant disciplines to contribute development of high temperature materials, design of hypersonic components, energy storage materials, batteries, biosensors, and other emerging devices for US DoD applications.
nThe emphasis of the position is to carry out work tasks in the areas of:
nThermal system and components development, design, and design optimization
nComputational aerothermal analysis of hypersonic and high-speed vehicles and components
nThermal systems and thermal components prototype demonstration and testing
nHands-on manufacturing process development, including tools or fixtures required to manufacture, integrate, and inspect flight and ground test hardware
nExperience with scaling up and development of manufacturing processes
nAero/thermal materials development, characterization, and testing
nMechanical design, characterization, and testing
nInvestigation of improvements, optimization, experimental validation and documentation of new/refined design and performance
nGenerating innovative ideas and solutions, preparation of compelling grant proposals
nPreparation of technical reports and presentations
nThe position provides opportunities to grow and lead a dedicated R&D area
nRequired Skills/Experience:
nMaster's degree or PhD in aerospace engineering, material science, mechanical engineering, electrochemistry or related engineering disciplines
nPrevious extensive experience with computational modeling (ANSYS Fluent or COMSOL Multiphysics)
nExperience with development of thermal systems and high temperature components
nHands on experience with material testing and characterization
nDevelopment of laboratory test assemblies and automation, experimental setups, data acquisition and data processing
nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast paced work environment
nExperience with project management
nDue to the project focus and funding from the Department of Defense, US citizenship is required
nDesired Skills/Experience:
nExperience with hypersonic flight vehicles and tactical weapons systems preferred
n5+ years' experience with computational simulation
nExperience with thermal system design
nPractical experience with experimental setups, design, and applications
