Aviation Safety Program SupportSeeking qualified professionals to support Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Aviation Safety (AVS) programs through analysis, technical support, and mission execution activities addressing aviation regulatory, policy, and safety challenges across the National Airspace System (NAS). This role supports high-impact aviation safety initiatives, modernization efforts, and emerging technologies shaping the future of the National Airspace System (NAS).Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze aviation regulatory, policy, and compliance issues supporting safety across the NASDevelop, draft, and review regulatory documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with FAA requirementsConduct regulatory research, analysis, and technical studies, including evaluation of public comments and rulemaking inputsAnalyzes Part 107 waivers, UAS airspace waivers and petitions for exemptionProvides expertise on technical aspects for UAS and flight operations including UAS data analysis teams, command and control systems, detect and avoid systems, traffic management systems, spectrum, UAS operations and UAS failure management systemsApplies knowledge in a technical or analytical field to develop code, implement algorithms and processes with proficiency in order to load results on dashboard, other visualizations and analytics projectsProvides text mining development and deployment, utilizes tools, techniques, processes and/or facilities such as state-of-the-art simulation environments, laboratories, data analysis and test facilitiesPrepare technical reports, regulatory analyses, and documentation for Government and stakeholder useCollaborate with FAA program offices, legal and policy stakeholders, and industry partners on regulatory and compliance initiativesQualificationsMaster's degree and ten years of aviation-related or regulatory drafting experienceMaster's degree may be waived with bachelor's degree and thirteen years of related experienceThree years of experience in UAS operations and NAS integration is desiredU.S. Citizen or Green Card Permanent Resident (minimum 3+ years of U.S.
