Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.The Sr. Quality Engineer, Complete Vehicle Quality, will be a cross-functional role that ties together Customer Quality, Service Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing and Operations Organizations. In this role, you will partner with the Design, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Production Control, Manufacturing & Process Engineering team to deliver high-quality vehicles to our customers.Responsibilities:Collaborate with various cross-functional teams to ensure the Manufacturing facility implements and maintains all requisite controls for the detection, containment, and prevention of quality issuesActively identify and address high-risk issues originating from various sources, including Service Quality data, Internal control gates, and Operations reportsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to determine the root cause of intricate technical challengesWork with the Engineering team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure process capability is effective to meet product requirementsDevelop Inspection plansDevelop inspection work instructions for Quality Gates, basing them on established specifications, industry standards, and the voice of the customerMonitor and steer systematic problems through the operations system (Rivian Concern System)Provide validation for deviations and containment actions implemented within the factory to address critical quality issuesQualifications:Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent4+ years of quality experience in manufacturing or engineering environmentsDemonstrated ability to build and maintain testing methods for detection, diagnostics and investigation for quality issuesDemonstrated project management skills and high-level summary for plant quality awarenessProduction Operations Knowledge and complete vehicle experience - Understanding of complex production lines and urgency of escalation, investigation and resources to operate with production control, material handling, supply chain, engineering, and production teamHands-on experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and testing methodologiesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills (8D or similar method problem-solving experience)~ SIX SIGMA Green Belt is a PlusDemonstrated experience with GD&TProficient in MS Office, CAD, Atlassian (Jira, Confluence) is a plusMust be able to travel at least 20%, travel may increase in timeMust frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 poundsStrong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skillsTeam player - ability to work in a fast-paced, highly ambiguous, multi-cultural environment with cross-functional teamsPay Disclosure: Salary Range for Illinois Based Applicants: The salary range for this position is $98,500 - $123,100 for Illinois based applicants.
This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs.
