Senior Project ManagerThe Senior Project Manager (SPM) is accountable for working closely with the Business and Technology to ensure the success and execution of all projects under their supervision. The Project Manager works with the Business and IS&T Leadership to build the business case. The SPM then plans, executes, and delivers all projects on time, on budget, and within the scope in accordance with business priorities.
Throughout the life cycle of each project, the manager tracks and reports project status, while managing project resources to mitigate issues and risks.Primary Duties/Responsibilities:Create a partnership relationship with the Business Sponsor and ensure the delivery of a successful PPM (Project Portfolio Management) service.Focus on the following Project Management disciplines:Time Mgt- Define and create project plans for Project deliveryFinancial Mgt - Delivery of Project on budgetResource Mgt - Management of and accountability for Internal/External resourcesIssue/Risk Mgt- tracking, escalation, and resolution as appropriateVendor Mgt- Accountable for third partiesScope Mgt- Delivery of defined scope/responsible for Change Mgt processCommunications Mgt- Stakeholder Mgt/SteerCos/Org Change Mgt/Training/etc.Some of the above disciplines require the SPM to work closely with SMEs in these fields, like Communications, Change Management, etc.Partner with IS&T Leadership, Business Sponsors, and other key stakeholders to define success metrics and criteria including business case developmentEnsure all projects meet success parameters and financial (e.g. - ROI) targets stated in the business caseFacilitate all operational checkpoint activities throughout the lifecycle of projectsEnsure all projects adhere to project methodology compliance standards set by the company via the PMLC-SDLCFor larger projects, guide the efforts of additional project managers to ensure collaboration and timely delivery of the projectEnsure run-books are assembled and made available to the business and IS&T personnelConduct a post-mortem of the project to ensure continuous improvement and recognition of team membersProvide performance feedback to managers of project team membersQualifications:Education / Experience / Background: 7 to 10 years of successful PM experience requiredBA/BS- Computer Science preferred, BA/BS Business Disciplines preferredKnowledge / Skills / Abilities: Excellent project management, organization, and team collaboration skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to deliver presentations to senior leadershipExcellent facilitation, collaboration, and negotiation skillsComfort with ambiguity, frequent change, or unpredictabilityAbility to work as part of a team and autonomouslyProficient with the Project and Portfolio Management Tools (ex.
MS Project, Clarity, Planview, Google Workplace, Daptive, Smartsheet, etc.)Exceptional/comprehensive understanding of PMLC & SDLC conceptsUnderstanding of project methodologies (i.e. Waterfall, Agile; Iterative, SCRUM, RUP, etc.)Required Certification / Licenses / Training: PMI, Prince or equivalent Project Management Certification preferredITIL Certification preferred but not requiredPMI-ACP certification a plusPhysical Requirements / Work Environment:Travel is required. Varies by project.
Office environment (desk, chairs, sitting, walking around, etc.) All candidates will be required to work in office two days a week at one of three possible report-to locations; Boston MA, Paramus NJ, or Milwaukee WI.
