Sr. Project ManagerThe Sr. Project Manager is responsible for the technical leadership, profitability and client management for a team of engineers and support staff.
Responsibilities include managing all aspects of the project including report/plan, financial performance, loss prevention, workload and staff balancing, preparation of technical proposals, monitoring of project budgets, staff supervision and scheduling of key projects.ResponsibilitiesExperience of managing in the areas of geotechnical consultation and construction phase testing and inspectionsManage team assignments and balance workload in a deadline driven environmentDesire and ability to seek out new business opportunities and develop additional clients while maintaining current workloadDirect and supervise staff and contractors to complete field exploration programs for a wide range of project typesSupervise field engineers and staff during construction on projects involving shallow and deep foundations, support of excavations and earthwork operationsPrepare proposals including developing geotechnical investigation, geotechnical design/consultation and construction phase inspections scope, preparing schedules and budgetsPrepare field investigation instructions for the field team based on the project geotechnical scopeDevelop design recommendations and/or identify the need for additional investigation/ testing based on field investigation resultsDevelop and coordinate the laboratory testing program based on the field resultsReview and analyze field boring/test pit logs that identify subsurface soil composition and groundwater depths which are incorporated into a formal technical reportPerform common geotechnical analysis for shallow foundations, deep pile foundations, earthwork, slope stability, retaining walls and pavementsPrepare geotechnical engineering reports that detail the field investigation data and design recommendations that will be reviewed by project managers and supervisorsReview and analyze construction phase testing and inspection reports for compliance with project specifications and/or project recommendations for additional testing, as requiredCommunicate with clients and/or contractors to discuss project related tasks and resultsGuide, manage, and support the delivery of projects and programs to ensure quality, and on-schedule and on-budget completion;Financial management of projects, including accounts receivable, client invoicing, and reviewing subcontractor invoices as related to project scope and budgetMentor staff and assist with the development of training programs that are implemented to satisfy accreditation requirements and overall company growthPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Geology or related engineering field; preferred geotechnical engineering concentrationMaster's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferredProfessional Engineer required5+ years' experience in geotechnical consulting, construction material inspections, and laboratory testing5+ years' experience in construction phase testing and inspection, including subgrade preparation, foundation installation inspection, fill placement testing, retaining wall construction oversight, soil stabilization oversight, concrete sampling and testing, reinforcing steel inspection, communicating with contractors and daily report preparationStrong relationship with developers, architects, contractors, etc. in FL, and can contribute to regional expansion effortsDemonstrate ability to track early-stage leads, engage with clients prior to RFPs and drive pipeline development from concept through developmentStrong understanding of codes and other regulatory requirementsAbility to work outdoors and in an office setting, as requiredValid driver's license required and in good standingAbility to maintain and operate personal and/or company vehicleCurrent or past American Concrete Institute (ACI) concrete field testing technician certificate, Florida Threshold Inspector/SI, OSHA 40, OSHA 10, and/or American Portable Nuclear Gauge Association (APNGA) gauge training a plusMust have hands-on experience with metric and English toolsKnowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesExcellent written and oral communication skillsProficient in the use of Microsoft Software Suite including Word, Excel, and OutlookAbility to understand general computer commands and learn supporting software for entering field data, laboratory data, timesheets, etc.Ability to use common geotechnical software programs for foundation, slope stability, retaining wall and pavement designs (such as APILE, LPILE, GRLWEAP, etc)Independent and critical thinkingSelf-starter who can work independently and with team membersSuperior organizational and delegation abilityProficient in the use of available mapping websites for due diligence and site investigation purposesFamiliar with the use of AutoCAD, bluebeam, or similar softwaresExperience dealing with regulatory agencies and review professionalsKnowledge of the planning and zoning process;Ability to work and lead in a team-oriented environment with a focus technical expertise to deliver high quality results within project timelinesWhy Join Dynamic?At Dynamic, we believe great careers are built through meaningful work, continuous growth, and strong relationships.
