Senior Project Engineer, Electrical EquipmentThe Senior Project Engineer, Electrical Equipment supports the injection equipment program by executing electrical and instrumentation engineering for skid-based equipment. This role applies advanced engineering knowledge to design, troubleshoot, and improve new and existing systems while independently managing complex assignments. The position is responsible for delivering reliable, compliant, and cost-effective engineering solutions that support successful project execution.ResponsibilitiesIndependently develop electrical and instrumentation designs for injection skid equipment to support safe, reliable, and cost-effective performanceApply current version of applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements (UL, OSHA, ATEX, CSA, etc.) in design developmentPrepare design deliverables, including wiring diagrams, control schematics, panel layouts, and supporting documentationTroubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, and control system issues for new and existing equipment and implement solutions in the design specificationsExecute engineering work across multiple projects in alignment with applicable standards, requirements, and design specificationsLead in project meetings and participate in client discussions to clarify requirements and support executionPrepare technical specifications and RFQs to support estimating, procurement, and project deliverySupport design control through MOC and maintain required engineering documentationLead equipment testing, inspection, and certification to verify performance and complianceCoordinate with project managers, engineers, vendors, and fabricators to support project timelines and deliverablesProvide technical guidance to project team members and field resources as neededProvide engineering input to support equipment, design, and project decisionsMaintain knowledge of relevant technologies, standards, and engineering practicesSkills & CompetenciesStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in electrical, instrumentation, and control systems (Siemens Preferred)Ability to apply sound engineering judgment to decisions impacting safety, reliability, and costAbility to manage multiple assignments and priorities across concurrent projectsEffective communication skills to convey technical information clearly to cross-functional stakeholdersAbility to work independently on complex assignments with limited supervisionCollaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across engineering, operations, and vendorsProficiency in electrical and instrumentation system design, including diagrams, schematics, and specificationsWorking knowledge of power distribution, motor controls, VFDs, and PLC-based systems (Siemens Preferred)Knowledge of instrumentation selection and application (flow, pressure, temperature, level, position)Working knowledge of current applicable electrical and safety codes and standardsEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in electrical engineering5+ years of experience in electrical, instrumentation, or control system design and troubleshootingExperience designing industrial equipment, packaged systems, or skid-based applicationsKnowledge of applicable codes and standards (CSA 22.2, NFPA 70 70E & 87, NEC, IEC, API, ISA)Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or process equipment environmentsPreferred Education & ExperienceEngineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) licenseExperience with PLC programming (ladder logic or function block)Experience supporting commissioning, startup, or operational troubleshootingExperience preparing RFQs, technical specifications, and engineering documentationJob & Physical RequirementsPrimarily office-based engineering work with regular use of a computer and design softwarePeriodic work in manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environments to support testing, troubleshooting, and commissioningAbility to review equipment in shop or field environments, which may require standing, walking, or climbing stairs/laddersAbility to travel to fabricators, suppliers, LSPI locations, and field sites as needed (approximately 10–20%)Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)LiquidPower Specialty Products Inc.
