Sr. Project EngineerThe Sr. Project Engineer supports a broad range of moderately complex projects ranging from design through implementation. Will work closely with all levels of the organization to drive desired results.
Projects can range from new equipment, procurement and installation; NPI, training of team members, maintenance, and troubleshooting of current processes/equipment. Leading/Managing small teams formally or informally is expected.Key ResponsibilitiesLead cost reduction and continuous improvement activities through individual and small team contributionsCommunicate with cross-functions teams, and foster relationships to ensure support in achieving schedule goalsBe a key stakeholder in customer technical interactions, with a variety of audiencesServe as a resource for development of small teams where necessaryDevelops support structure plan for implementation of best practices in conjunction with facility Operational teams. Provides a roadmap for handoff of projects to Operations for implementationKey Skills and CompetenciesStrong problem solving and organizational skillsAbility to effectively present information in one-on one and small group situation to customers and other employees of the organizationStrong knowledge of fabrication and welding processes and emerging process technologies related to Cab manufacturingSelf-motivator able to set and achieve metric bases goals, overcome obstacles, and make timely decisionsLeading/Managing Small Teams formally and or informallyProficient in Microsoft Products, primarily Excel and PowerPointAbility to use Draftsight, PTC Creo or equivalentBackground in programming preferred, PLCAbility to interpret welding blueprint specifications and symbols requiredProven ability to quickly and effectively troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and software issues on automated systemsAbility to interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams of new and existing systemsEducation and Experience RequirementsBachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent experience preferredMinimum of 5 years experience associated with manufacturing environments in Off-Highway Equipment, Automotive, or Sheet Metal Fabrication 1-2 years of Project Management and or People Management preferredExperience interacting with internal customers across products design, manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, and cost estimating functionsWorking Conditions/OtherWork Hours/Status: Monday – Friday: 7:00am – 4:00pmMaintains up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law, compliance, trends, new technologies and best practices in areas of responsibilities.This position description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities and competencies required of this position.
