nThe Leo Manufacturing Quality team is driven to deliver high-quality product lines while maintaining a fast production rate. This position will join the team at an exciting moment, with an opportunity to directly own the quality outputs of some of our critical sub-systems.
nAs a Sr. Production Quality engineer, you will have the opportunity to own product performance for some of the most critical sub-assemblies of the satellite, delivering creative solutions to reduce defects, and planning to prevent defects using technical quality skills.
nExport Control Requirement:

nKey job responsibilities
nLead as Product QE over satellite mechanism assemblies, including process definition and validation for assembly and test methods, part and process qualification, inspection plans, in-process inspection capabilities, and process monitoring.
nLead MRB discussions determine product dispositions for nonconforming material.
nDive deep into defect reduction activities for the mechanisms subassemblies, and drive innovative solutions to prevent recurrence of defects.
nWork directly with Inspection, Supplier Quality, and Engineering teams to develop and qualify inspection, monitoring, and verification methods for the Leo Production System all through the production system and ensure a no defect mentality
nBe a Quality SME for the mechanisms sub-assemblies, owning defect reduction, reporting, and overall quality performance of the mechanism subassemblies, including electromechanical hardware, high cleanliness/FOD sensitivity, tight tolerance & high precision machined parts, high criticality attributes
nLead and develop new and novel process mechanisms for cross functional production system teams.

nA day in the life
nPerform daily defect resolution as the Quality member.
nInvestigates Production System issues to reduce defect rates and drive root cause corrective actions.
nImplements the Amazon Leo Quality System through process development and launch mechanisms.
nPartners with cross-functional groups to develop and qualify internal production processes, including Quality Assurance processes.
nConduct rigorous Continuous Improvement activities to prevent recurrence of non-conformances during assembly.
nPerform audit activities to ensure compliance to QMS requirements.
nDevelop and modify process flow diagrams, PFMEAs, control plans, MSAs, and other APQP artifacts to support continued high quality production.
nWorking within an AS9100 certified quality system.
nBasic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field

4+ years of experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures

4+ years of experience in leading containment activities

4+ years of experience in leading APQP (PFMEA, CP, PFD, SPC, MSA)

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent

Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production

Experience with the project management of technical projects

4+ years of experience in performing RCA for functional test failure for PCBA or mechanical failures

4+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience

4+ years experience in semi-automated and fully automated process improvement to add error proofing to system such as Kyence, Cognex or other AI/ML Vision system

nThe base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
