This includes product engineering, media engineering, quality assurance, engineering behind personalization, commerce, lifecycle, and identity.Job Summary:Describe what the person will do in the role - how he/she will impact the organization.As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be part of a diverse and talented organization focused on building and maintaining complex sports platform services and applications for ESPN. You will be a key contributor on a team creating the world's #1 sports products, working with modern server-side platform frameworks and services such as Spring Boot, MongoDB, and Apache Kafka. You will design, build, and own significant features and services end-to-end, mentor junior engineers, and drive technical quality across the codebase.Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:Summarize job responsibilities, core deliverables and major duties. What is required for the position to exist?-Focus on major areas of work, typically 20% or more of role% of Time40% Design and develop platform services and features within a complex distributed system that delivers live sports data to Web, Mobile, and Living Room devices15% Own and operate services in production — monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident response for the systems you build20% Collaborate cross-functionally with other engineering teams to solve complex problems, considering performance, scalability, caching, resiliency, and flexibility for expanding product requirements15% Mentor and elevate junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance10% Contribute to technical direction by participating in architectural reviews, proposing improvements, and researching emerging technologiesRequired Education, Experience/Skills/Training:Minimum and Preferred.

The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
