The role will partner with and provide guidance to Sourcing Specialists (Band 6) who support execution, ensuring rigor and consistency across sourcing activities.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn and define category sourcing strategies for Indirect spend across LSG, aligned with business priorities and financial targetsLead execution of strategic sourcing initiatives, coordinating support from Band 6 resources while maintaining accountability for outcomesLead complex negotiations and supplier engagements, securing optimal commercial and contractual termsAct as a strategic partner to stakeholders, translating business needs into sourcing strategies and actionable plansOversee and guide RFP/RFx processes, ensuring strong design, execution, and supplier evaluationProvide direction and guidance to Band 6 Sourcing Specialists supporting sourcing executionDrive supplier strategy and relationship management for key vendors, including performance, risk, and value deliveryLead contract lifecycle strategy and oversight, including governance, compliance, and risk mitigationPerform advanced cost modeling, scenario analysis, and benchmarking to inform sourcing decisionsOwn and deliver measurable P&L impact, including savings, cost avoidance, and value creationDrive continuous improvement of sourcing processes, tools, and best practices across LSGFunctional & Technical SkillsDeep expertise in strategic sourcing, category management, and supplier strategy developmentStrong experience leading complex sourcing initiatives across Indirect categoriesAdvanced negotiation skills with demonstrated success in high-value agreementsStrong knowledge of Indirect spend categories (e.g., Services, IT, Facilities, Clinical Services, etc.)Experience with ERP systems, spend analytics, eSourcing tools, and contract management platformsAbility to translate data into insights and actionable sourcing strategiesLeadership / Behavioral CompetenciesStrategic thinker with strong ownership mindset and accountability for outcomesAbility to influence stakeholders and drive alignment across functionsProvides guidance and informal leadership to junior team membersHighly analytical with strong decision-making capabilities based on dataThrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment with focus on continuous improvementHow will you get here?Role ClarificationThis role operates as a senior individual contributor, leading strategy and key initiatives while partnering with and guiding junior team members supporting execution.RequirementsBachelor's Degree plus 6 years of experience in procurement/sourcingMaster's degree preferred • Preferred Fields of Study: Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related fieldProject Management certification desiredCPSM, CPIM, or equivalent procurement certification preferredDemonstrated expertise in strategic sourcing, category management, and supplier relationship managementStrong analytical and financial acumen with ability to develop business cases and drive cost savingsProject management capabilities and experience managing complex, global initiativesProven negotiation skills and ability to influence in matrix environmentAdvanced proficiency in MS Office suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and project management toolsExperience with ERP systems, spend analytics, and e-sourcing platformsStrong communication and presentation skills for engaging stakeholders at all levelsAbility to work collaboratively across global, cross-functional teamsExperience in life sciences, biotech, pharmaceutical or regulated industries preferredKnowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)Travel 10-50% as required by roleFluency in English required; additional languages beneficialDemonstrated ability to manage multiple high-value projects simultaneouslyExperience with supplier quality management systems and regulatory complianceCompensation and BenefitsThe salary range estimated for this position based in California is $103,100.00–$154,700.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
