Overview

Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test & Logistics (SEIT&L) Department at Northrop Grumman Oceanic is seeking a systems engineering generalist to support complex, dynamic maritime programs of national strategic importance in Annapolis, MD. This full‑time, on‑site position involves working with cutting‑edge undersea and surface technologies such as uncrewed undersea vehicles (UUVs), remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), advanced acoustic sensors, and digital engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in multi‑disciplinary teams performing mission engineering, requirements development & management (using DOORS), system architecture development, system modeling including Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), digital design thread integration, interface development & management, CONOPS development, trade studies, integration & test, and verification & validation.
  • Create systems engineering work products for the functions above.
  • Prepare and brief technical packages to program, company, and customer leadership teams.
  • Support project and program processes, reviews, and technical planning activities.
  • Develop content and present during milestone reviews including Systems Requirement Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), Test Readiness Review (TRR), and Consent to Ship Review (CSR).
  • Assist with capture and proposal activities.

Basic Qualifications

  • Express interest in maritime surface/undersea domain.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
  • Experience: 8 years with a bachelor's degree; 6 years with a master's; or 4 years with a PhD.
  • Demonstrated experience in systems engineering processes such as requirements development & management, system modeling, system architecture development, interface traceability, integration & test, and verification & validation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn additional discipline areas.
  • Current Top Secret clearance and willingness to obtain TS/SCI with CI polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Broad experience applying systems engineering throughout the systems “V” lifecycle model.
  • Proficiency in requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS.
  • Familiarity with architecture frameworks/modeling languages (SysML, UML, DoDAF, UPDM, UAF).
  • Proficiency in model‑based tools (Cameo, ModelCenter, Siemens Teamcenter).
  • Experience executing systems engineering functions within a digital ecosystem.
  • Leadership experience, mentorship, and customer interfacing.
  • Team leadership experience for systems engineers.
  • Preparation of engineering milestone work products (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR).
  • Experience in naval warfare domains such as ASW, ASUW, MIW, Cyber Warfare, or related areas.
  • Industry or company recognition, awards, publications, patents, or disclosures.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with CI poly.
