Sr. Principal Communications/Co-site Electronics EngineerNorthrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Communications/Co-site Electronics Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL and will be based within our office spaces to support the program and business needs.
Operating on our 9/80 schedule means you will get every other Friday off. This position has NO Hybrid or Remote work available.The selected engineer will perform as a member of an interdisciplinary team in a key effort to develop novel and innovative solutions to advanced technical problems. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall development and integration of RF Subsystems, including analyzing performance, developing and managing requirements and interfaces, and verifying/validating all allocated requirements.Job Responsibilities:Support development and integration of communications and other RF subsystems and components to meet platform mission objectivesRequirements development, analysis, maturation and implementation translating customer requirements into derived specificationsPerform Computational Electromagnetic (CEM) antenna analysis for source/victim (co-site) analysisConduct detailed trade studiesPerform risk analysis and develop mitigation plans and track to closureCollaborate with engineers and program stakeholdersDevelop and maintain supplier documentation, performance-based specifications, and statements of workTechnical management of program strategic partners and suppliers, including development, acquisition, acceptance, qualification, system integration and test supportReview documents from the supplier's development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design reviewsIdentifying/planning/executing informal and formal testing of subsystem requirements in lab, troubleshooting hardware in the labPerforming aircraft ground and flight test on subsystems to validate and verify subsystem requirement and sell-offSupport technical discussions with the customer and have daily interaction with management, external personnel, customers, and various sub teamsA successful candidate has good leadership skills and understands the scope of the work and the impact of the work on other teams, consistently brings concerns, issues and risks to program and technical leadership and holds the team to a high level of technical rigor.Basic Qualifications:Sr. Principal: Bachelor's degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering, or Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 6 years of related professional/military experience.Knowledge of electromagnetics in the RF spectrum (VHF through Ka bands)Ability to design, select and characterize RF components to meet mission objectivesExperience in Computational Electromagnetic (CEM) antenna analysis for source/victim (co-site) analysisExperience in one or more of the following:Designing, integrating, testing, installing, operating LOS and BLOS communication systems in airborne military applicationsExperience with voice, military and network waveformsExperience with cryptographic implementationsDemonstrated problem-solving ability and data analysis experienceKnowledge of system engineering design methods, including requirements analysis and flow-down, specification derivation and interface control documentationMust have an active US Government Secret Clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation) and any program access required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the companyAbility to obtain and maintain US Government Top Secret clearancePreferred Qualifications:Experience in model-based systems engineering using Cameo or similar SysML toolsExperience in performance analysis using MATLAB and Excel or similar toolsFamiliarity with Atlassian collaboration tool set (Jira and Confluence)Experience in supplier/subcontract managementExperience with developing supplier documentation, performance-based specifications, and statements of workExperience building supplier evaluation criteria and experience in conducting technical evaluations, documenting results and selectionAbility to review documents from the supplier's development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design reviewPrimary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
