With over 30 owned facilities, more than 3.5 million square feet of warehouse space and an extensive partner network, NXTPoint Logistics offers the broad capabilities and reach of a large 3PL company while maintaining its commitment to being the most flexible and responsive provider in the industry.Responsible for all aspects of the operations at multiple or complex locations including, people management and development, process improvement, policy design and deployment, contractor oversite and safety.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Direct all operations personnel, including dispatchers, operations assistants, warehouse personnel, drivers, and service crew in daily activities, whether employees or contractorsEnsure all service-related activities are performed to the highest level possible in accordance with company and vendor standards.Ensure that all employees and contractors have proper training, job skills, and knowledge to perform assigned duties.
Assess and act when re-training is needed.Ensure compliance with governmental regulations, licensing and permitting, and administrative policies and proceduresLead performance reviews, career path planning meetings, positive feedback and recognition activities, corrective action meetings, and disciplinary actions with all operations personnelFoster an environment and culture of Safety First, monitoring practices and adjusting as appropriate to sustain a safe work environmentEstablish and execute operational playbook for worksites to improve safety, productivity, profitability, and customer satisfactionEstablish and monitor process for records management related to job records, contractor records, client records and vendor recordsMentors and develops leaders and staffDevelop and deploy site-wide process improvement projects to optimize operations and improve productivity to meet or exceed business objectivesOwn and deliver the operational budget including productivity, financial and labor planning and operational goalsEffectively leverage Operations Managers and Supervisors to solicit ideas and understand problems and challenges at the siteNetworks with leaders across the company to solicit and share process improvement and best practices to drive efficiencies and cost savings.Drive timely planning and scheduling for all jobs and all lines of businessEstablish quality goals and continuous improvement plans and monitor for performance against goalsMonitor gross margins for service line. Develop and implement specific plans to improve gross margins compatible with operation goalsMonitor productivity of production crews against goalsManage overtime hours within acceptable guidelinesParticipate in job costing to provide the basis to secure additional profitable business opportunitiesNegotiate contracts with equipment and materials suppliers as delegated and agreed to with the Director of OperationsServe as subject matter expert for business development and sales calls to describe and promote the company's capabilitiesRecommend capital expenditures for acquisition of new equipment and maintenance of existing equipment to increase efficiency and services of operations departmentSet policies and procedures for facility and vehicle security, including end of day checks, and monitor them for completionQualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
