Senior Network EngineerContract to hire or direct hire - Must move to Denver upon conversionSenior network engineer with a security focus to join client-facing professional services team. Main duties and responsibilities include:Network SME for project delivery. Collaborate with Cavalry and client project teams to define network and security solutions fit for purpose.Design, implement, document and support LAN, WAN, and network security devices (firewall and IPS)Tier 3 network escalations for Cavalry's operations clientsAudit client network and security infrastructure, document findings, review findings with clientQualifications Required:Professional experience performing a network engineering function (Network planning, capacity management, critical incident response, complex integration, etc) Experience operating with enterprise class requirements for compliance (no specific industry is required, however experience in ICS systems is a major plus) Networking knowledge - Applicants should have a functional, working understanding of Cisco networking concepts, including SD-WAN. (CCNP equivalent expertise) Experience with Enterprise firewall deployment and management. Solid understanding of Cisco ASA and FTD firewalls strongly preferred.
Fortinet experience a plus Basic security operational knowledge - A basic understanding of the most common technical controls is required (i.e. Firewall, IPS, Content Filter, etc.) Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Ability to produce effective reports and notices for customer action. Ability to pass a full background check. Strong written and oral communication skills.Preferred:Experience in environments utilizing either ITILv3 Service Management Concepts or the NIST 800-53 Risk Management Framework.
Good understanding of ICS/OT Systems. A background in zone-based networking (network-based security models for isolation) General understanding of threat/risk management and threat/risk assessment.Other traits of a successful candidate:Indisputable integrity - Our clients depend on Cavalry to run towards problems and tell the truth without fail. We take accuracy very seriously in reporting. This position requires up to 25% travel (periods 2-5 days at a time) to remote plant locations, solid and logical communications skills with plant operators, and the ability to operate independently of oversight and provide daily and weekly updates to leadership.
