Senior Network EngineerJob Location: Boca Raton, FloridaJob Duration: 12+ Months ContractThe Senior Network Engineer is a key member of the Network Operations Team. The incumbent will be mainly responsible for the configuration and implementation of connectivity solutions in a multi-vendor network that comprises of a hybrid On-Premises, Hosted, Cloud-based environment. Additional responsibilities will be installing cabling and fiber infrastructure to support router and switch connectivity.
The Senior Network Engineer will also be responsible for upgrading networking equipment and software, including switches, routers, wireless hardware, and load balancers.Responsibilities:Installation, maintenance, optimization, and monitoring of wireless or wired network equipment and other routine network hardwarePerform analysis and monitoring of network availability and performance expectations; carry out performance tuning and assist in troubleshooting network issues; make network performance reports and statistics available to upper mgmt.Provide support for single and multimode fiber and structured cabling for other systems, software, and communication linksEnsure that network segmentation controls are adequately designed to protect sensitive environments and comply with all departmental compliance requirementsAssist with the creation and maintenance of available documentation regarding processes, network mapping, and network configurationAssist in maintaining procedures for disaster recovery, usage, and network administrationCollaborate with users and other technical teams on the identification, isolation, and correction of problems as well as enhancements to the existing networkAssist with the design of networks, IP and routing summarization, includes configuring routers and switches.Ensure compliance with established standards, polices, configuration guidelines established by department and industry best practicesAssist with the design and maintenance of the server load balancing and global load balancing environmentsRecommend network design proposals for connectivity solutions for internal and external partnersCreate detailed Visio diagrams in support of network hardware deploymentsStay current with network and infrastructure technologies through various methods including online research, vendor hosted seminars and conferences and/or free online coursesRequirements:Education:BS/MS in Computer Science or EngineeringExperience:Must have 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience with:Configuring and implementing a multi-vendor hardware network environmentsStrong experience and knowledge of networking concepts: TCP/IP, OSI, Routing and SwitchingKnowledge with the following cloud computing platforms: Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWSKnowledge with a variety of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, etc.)Knowledge of server load balancing solutions, which includes configuring multi-data center LB / GSLB servicesExcellent written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skillsExperience with Linux (RedHat), Windows, VMware, and other OS platformsCertification:Cisco Certifications: CCNA and CCNP or CCIEJuniper Network Certifications: JNCIA or JNCIE
