Senior Manufacturing EngineerVacuum Solution, a division of MKS Instruments, is looking for a self-motivated individual with hands on capability and good knowledge of assembly techniques and automation to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate with your counterparts in continuous improvement by identifying automation and implementing solutions for process optimization and often act as a technical leader for platform integration. Additionally, you will work with the Operations team and other Manufacturing Engineers to establish and oversee manufacturing processes across various production areas.You Will Make an Impact By:Provide hands-on manufacturing engineering support for released products; interface with cross functional groups to support production and resolve manufacturing and quality issuesSet up and automate Manufacturing processes for existing and new product introductions, estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards and makes recommendations for tooling and process improvements on new or existing product lines.Utilize Lean methodologies to refine manufacturing methods, processes, and use tools to improve and streamline production processes for new and existing products using Value Stream Mapping, 6S and Kaizen techniquesUtilize Problem solving tools and statistical techniques in problem solving and driving corrective actionsCreate, update and maintain manufacturing process documentation in a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) environment to ensure all work/test instructions and forms are properly controlled and to the latest revision.Setup and verify BOMs and establish routings with associated labor standards for new part numbers.Train and certify assembly operators on Manufacturing ProcessesDesigns tools and fixtures for new and existing product linesCoordinates time studies, line balancing for process optimizationSkills You Bring:BS/MS in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical/Software engineering3+ years of experience in a mixed production environmentKnowledge of and experience with structured problem-solving tools and techniquesKnowledge of and experience with SPC tools and process control implementationKnowledge of and experience with Lean manufacturing methodologiesPreferred Skills:Knowledge of a modern programming language, such as Python, JavaScript, or SQLLean Manufacturing & Six Sigma Green belt is a plus1 year experience with demonstrated expertise troubleshooting and solving production problems with minimal supervision.Knowledge in measurement equipmentKnowledge of SolidWorks or AutoCAD preferredKnowledge of PowerBI, Oracle, Minitab preferredKnowledge of MES and product lifecycle management systemsPhysical Demands and Working Conditions:Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of timeRegularly requires good manual dexterity and coordinationOccasionally moves/positions objects up to 20 lbs.Ability to remain in a stationary position for 40% of the timeRegularly requires manual dexterity and coordination of objects below, at and above shoulder levelMust be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understandMust be able to exchange accurate informationOperates in a professional office and/or laboratory/manufacturing environmentConstantly operates a computer and other office productivity machineryAbility to observe documents and details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)Dedication to safety to mitigate hazards, including handling mechanical and electrical hardware, high voltage, gas, water, and heatNoise level in the work environment is usually averageThis position is onsite and candidate must live within commutable distance to our location in Methuen MA.
