Manufacturing EngineerThis is a 3rd shift position which includes a 12% shift premium.Primary responsibilities include developing the comprehensive manufacturing process for 3D metal parts for various radar, integrated sensor, and effector programs. The candidate will define materials, develop work holding solutions, create multi-axis CNC machining programs, develop inspection plans, and create process instructions for operators to follow. They will also assess process failures, disposition non-conforming hardware, and create and execute robust Root Cause/Corrective Action plans to permanently solve problems.
This position requires close cooperation with the Operations team and other engineering disciplines. The desired candidate will possess excellent communication skills and be capable of working in a dynamic team environment.What You Will DoTranslate engineering design requirements into formal manufacturing process documentation including raw material definition, fixturing/tooling development, CNC programming, inspection planning, finishing requirements, and assembly instructionsSupport process improvements using data analysis, application of best practices, and by implementing innovative solutions to improve process capability and decrease costDesign, control, and improve the manufacturing process through collaboration with a multi-disciplined teamPerform process development on new product introductions with an accelerated time to marketOptimize CNC programs using machining modelling and analysis tools to identify inefficiencies and apply new techniquesIntegrate automated solutions for part handling and in-machine work holdingSupport continuous improvement initiatives and document standard methodologies and standard work for CNC machiningReview metrology and statistical process control (SPC) data to identify and address potential defects before they occurValidate NC programs using CGTech Vericut and Cimco EditTroubleshoot manufacturing issues alongside Quality and Operations personnel and apply CORE/6-sigma methods to determine Root Cause and apply Corrective ActionsQualifications You Must HaveTypically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and a minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience.Knowledge of high-speed machining techniques, cutting tools, and CNC machine tool capabilitiesAble to correctly interpret engineering drawings, including Geometric Dimensions and TolerancesThe ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.
