Sr. Mainframe Developer
Location: New York, NY or Pittsburgh, PA

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to support legacy application development and modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate has strong, hands-on COBOL development experience, deep knowledge of core mainframe technologies, and direct experience migrating legacy applications and data to modern distributed platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot mainframe applications using COBOL.
- Support batch processing, CICS transaction processing, and database operations.
- Work with JCL, DB2, MQ, VSAM, and stored procedures.
- Analyze application dependencies across legacy systems and data structures.
- Contribute to mainframe modernization initiatives, including migrating VSAM data to relational databases and supporting integration with distributed technologies.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure application reliability and successful modernization.
Required Qualifications
- Strong, recent hands-on COBOL development experience.
- Proficiency with JCL, CICS, DB2, MQ, VSAM, and batch processing.
- Experience with stored procedures and mainframe application troubleshooting.
- Direct experience participating in mainframe modernization or migration projects.
- Understanding of legacy application dependencies and data migration to relational databases. xzgxqkn
