Job TitleComputer Numerical Controlled (CNC) MachinistJob DescriptionWe are seeking experienced Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machinists and machine operators for our 1st and 2nd shift operations. Metal Part Machining focuses on operating computer or mechanically controlled machines to produce and repair metal parts for manufacturing. Analyzes engineering specifications or blueprints to define the dimensions and features of the metal part to be produced. Determines the optimal tool path for fabricating the part by selecting appropriate machine tools (e.g., lathes, drill presses, milling machines, grinders, boring machines, etc.) and specifying the sequence of tool operations.
Manually sets up/adjusts machine tools. Recommends revisions in design and/or substitutions in material based on machinability or fabrication problemsImpact of the RoleRequires working knowledge and skills to perform a defined set of analytical scientific or operational processes. Applies experience and skills to complete assigned work within own area of expertise. Works within standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods.
Works with a moderate degree of supervision. Performs manual tasks according to established procedures.Essential FunctionsAssists with the installation, operation, testing, and adjustment of various types of conventional or automatic machines used to produce precision parts and instruments.Fabricates and modifies parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.Machines parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.Measures, examines, and tests completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.Additional ResponsibilitiesThese positions will involve the operation of CNC mills, lathes, grinders, and various hand tools.Required QualificationsRequired education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 2-5 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or ExperiencePreferred QualificationsPreferred education and experience: Associate's DegreeDiscipline/Major: Technical training preferredKnowledge, skills & abilities: Mathematical skills. Technical expertise. Manual dexterity.
