Senior It Business AnalystThe Senior IT Business Analyst is a trusted professional partner working closely with project teams to lead the elicitation and documentation of current and future state business processes and capability requirements. As a core member of larger more complex project teams, the Senior IT Business Analyst is a liaison between many partners within and outside of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Massachusetts organization and will be involved in all phases of the SDLC. The Senior IT Business Analyst is goal oriented, an effective communicator, adept at negotiation and issue resolution and is able to work within project deadlines using various methodologies.

The Senior IT Business Analyst is also a mentor to other Business Analysts and an active contributor to the development and continuous improvement of the BA CoE.Key Accountabilities:Source and analyze needed project information to create and document a requirements elicitation work planConduct and document gap analysis Analyze and document complex processes and related operational and technical systems within the process to document business, functional (capability), non-functional, conversion, data, and communication requirementsPlan and facilitate large group and one-on-one meetingsConduct and document process, business and capability requirement elicitation work sessions with subject matter expertsConduct process and requirement walkthrough sessions with project team Identify and document requirement and project related issues, assumptions, constraints, dependencies, identified risks, and decisionsManage project business requirements and related documentation, including EPICS and User Stories, and any needed approvalsAct as a liaison between business and technology partners building and maintaining effective working relationshipsWork closely with project managers, business analysts and all other internal and external project team members maintaining a high standard of professionalism and accountabilityCreate project documentation to BA CoE standards within a deadline to achieve project goalsCollaborate with the test team to create a traceability matrix and provide needed consultation during the development of test plans and scenarios.Identify and document opportunities for improvementConduct and document define phase lessons learnedProvide consultative support to project team partners during downstream phases of the SDLC Mentor and coach to BA CoE team membersSkills and Qualifications:Professional with between three to seven years’ experience in Business Analysis Experience includes larger complex projects and/or enterprise level projectsExercises personal responsibility and ability to work independentlyStrong aptitude for effectively collaborating with others at all organizational levelsCommunicates effectively orally and in writingSkilled in technical writing and diagramming Skilled in project and time managementSkilled in facilitation, negotiation, complex issue analysis and resolutionAble to effectively communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical audiencesAdvanced PC skills (MS Office, MS Visio, MS Project)High levels of business acumen and professionalismLearns quickly and can work in a fast paced and dynamic environment BS/BA desired but will consider equivalent project work experienceAbility and willingness to travel to other Massachusetts locationsHealthcare or Insurance experience is a plus IIBA, PMI, SCRUM or SAFe Agile Certification a plus JIRA and Confluence experience a plus
