Fuel your career with GEODIS and discover endless growth opportunities.Your role on the team:Design, develop, and optimize logical and physical database models to support business and technical requirementsOversee the architecture, implementation, and management of highly available, scalable, and secure database solutions (on-premises and/or cloud)Set database standards, guidelines, and best practices for data modeling, data integrity, backup/recovery, and disaster recoveryCollaborate with software engineers, data analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into robust database designsEvaluate and recommend new database technologies, tools, and platforms to meet evolving business requirementsLead or participate in database migration, integration, and modernization initiativeMonitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning strategies for optimal efficiencyEnforce data governance policies and ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulationsMentor and provide technical guidance to database administrators and junior engineersDevelop and maintain database documentation, architecture diagrams, and data dictionariesOther duties:As required and assignedSupports GEODIS' programs for Safety, Health, Environment, Quality, Ethics, Compliance, CSR and SustainabilityWhat you need:8+ years of experience in database design, architecture, and administrationDeep expertise in relational (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL) database technologiesExperience with cloud database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL) is highly desirableStrong knowledge of database performance tuning, backup/recovery, and security best practicesProficient in SQL, data modeling tools, and scripting languagesExperience with data warehousing, ETL processes, and big data solutions is a plus.
