JOB SUMMARY
nThe purpose of this position is to assist in the development of procedures and operational guidance within the HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) program.
nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
nProvides specific support for monitoring injury, illness, and incident related performance. Supports the development and implementation of strategic solutions which may improve the performance results as required.
nExamines permits, licenses, applications, and records to ensure compliance with HSE requirements.
nPrepare, organize, and maintain inspection records. Investigates complaints and suspected violations. Monitors follow-up actions in cases where violations were found, and reviews compliance monitoring reports.
nSupports the specific HSE plans, playbooks, and procedures as assigned by manager/supervisor.
nInforms management team and client/groups and/or employees of control regulations and inspection findings, and explains how violations can be corrected.
nSupports and aides in cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives as directed.
nMay act as a HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) SME (Subject Matter Expert) for client and/or the field.
nOther duties may be assigned.
nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
nNo formal supervisory responsibilities in this position.
nMay provide informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to coworkers.
nMay coordinate work and assign tasks.

nEDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
nHigh School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Minimum four years of HSE related experience.
nFundamental knowledge of federal, state and local health and safety, and environmental regulations preferred. Direct experience dealing with regulatory agencies and / or compliance officers is beneficial.
nCERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
nAs required by local authority (if required).
nCOMMUNICATION SKILLS
nAbility to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor. Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees.
nFINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE
nRequires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.
nREASONING ABILITY
nAbility to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires basic analytical skills.

nAbility to follow detailed instructions and work with a sense of urgency.
