Gilbane is seeking a Senior General Superintendent II - Data Center to be responsible for managing all field operations on one or more large projects. This position will be on the job site every day and will fill a key role on the project team.

Responsibilities
- Direct trade contractors and sub‑contractors to ensure high‑quality work meeting the approved project schedule.
- Supervise and develop the project team.
- Manage the project budget for general conditions and Next 150/Site Services.
- Document, communicate, and manage the work plan for changes made in the field.
- Lead site walks with owners, architects/engineers, and financial institutions to show construction progress.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of contract documents to coordinate trades and anticipate potential problems.
- Ensure subcontractors obtain all necessary permits for construction purposes.
- Follow up with authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ) to schedule and complete inspections.
- Act as primary safety representative in the field, monitoring safety performance and ensuring compliance.
- Develop safety strategies and drive safety culture across all project personnel.
- Plan and conduct maintenance, workarounds, shutdowns, and tie‑ins.
- Lead contractor meetings and coordinate jobsite logistics.
- Accountable for accuracy of daily reports.
- Communicate schedule status, updates, and changes to the project team and trade contractors.
- Develop the Quality in Construction (QIC) plan with the Operations Excellence team.
- Resolve jurisdictional disputes with Business Unit leadership.
- Establish credibility among owners, trade contractors, unions, and other project partners.
- Manage Next 150/Site Services material and crew needs.
- Mentor and develop junior project team members.
- Engage with the Superintendent peer group.
- Lead technical trainings for continued education.
- Participate in business development, project pursuits, and preconstruction needs.
- Administer Time and Materials (T&M) tracking.
- Lead or delegate stretch, flex, and daily huddles.
- Develop ground‑up construction with foundation experience.
- Engage in the community, fostering local market relationships.
- Partner with business development to integrate sales strategies and client capture plans.
- Lead opportunities to strengthen client and partner relationships.
- Assist with tasks typically assigned to more junior positions (when required).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
- 15+ years of experience on $50 million–$100+ million commercial/industrial projects or multiple projects in a lead superintendent role.
- Hyperscale data center experience is required.
- OSHA 30‑hour certified.
- STS‑C certification.
- First Aid, CPR, AED, Stop the Bleed Training.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Ability to participate in sales processes, interviews, and presentations.
- Leadership ability in a team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry‑standard construction software tools.
- Construction‑document and drawing literate with knowledge of all phases of construction.
- Familiarity with Pull Planning Process.
- Experience and proficiency in all divisions of work, methods, materials, scheduling, and cost control.
- Strong knowledge and appreciation of construction safety processes.
- Ability to create a safety‑first culture.
- Experience supervising and leading a larger project team.
- Knowledge of labor relations.
