Sr. Firmware EngineerWe are seeking a motivated Sr. Firmware Engineer to join our team focused on the development and support of firmware for high-performance Ethernet switch products.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in Linux-based systems and networking who enjoys hands-on validation, debugging, and collaboration across hardware, firmware, and software teams. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and quality of our data center switching solutions.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Perform firmware validation, software installation, configuration, and switch bring-up activities for new and existing Ethernet switch platformsSupport debugging and resolution of customer-reported issues related to networking, firmware, and system integrationCollaborate closely with hardware, firmware, and software teams to validate new software releases, bug fixes, and feature implementationsUtilize Linux command-line tools, system logs, and diagnostic utilities to troubleshoot complex system and networking issuesAssist with automation scripting (e.g., shell/Python) and execution of regression, interoperability, and functional testingMaintain accurate engineering documentation, issue tracking records, validation reports, and test resultsSupport lab infrastructure setup, customer configuration replication, and reproduction of field-reported issuesContribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and tools for switch firmware quality assuranceQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field8+ years of experience in firmware validation, networking, or embedded systems supportBasic understanding of Linux operating systems and Ethernet switching conceptsFamiliarity with Cumulus Linux, common networking protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, VLAN, STP, MLAG, EVPN), and data center switching environmentsHands-on experience with switch bring-up, configuration, and troubleshootingStrong problem-solving skills and ability to debug issues across hardware-software boundariesExperience using Linux CLI tools, logging mechanisms, and diagnostic utilitiesKnowledge of scripting for automation and testing (Bash, Python preferred)Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detailAbility to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environmentSalary Range $160,000 - $180,000 The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role.
