Sr. Field Service TechnicianIndustry leading power distribution products and services company is hiring for a Sr. Field Service Technician to join its team in Seymour, CT.

Technicians will be repairing, upgrading, reconditioning, testing, and maintaining customer's electrical equipment from a single circuit breaker to a complete substation. Technician must be prepared to travel regionally up to 70% of the time, and be able to lead, manage, direct, and coach junior technicians when assigned to their project. Additionally, the Sr.

Tech may be required to oversee and work with subcontractors on various projects.ResponsibilitiesMechanical and industrial electrical experience required. The ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical machinery. Knowledge of electrical apparatus including 480V, 5KV and 15KV a plus.Ability to clean electrical parts (copper buss, racking mechs, cubical primary bottles)Ability to know proper/safe clearances for electrical equipmentAbility to cut and weld metalsAbility to remove and reinstall electrical components in switchgear and circuit breakers with documentationAbility to choose correct insulation and properly install over copper bussMechanical ability to troubleshoot and repair switchgear and circuit breakersAbility to racking breakers in and out of cubicles and know correct interlock positionsAbility to choose correct paints and primers for indoor and outdoor equipment and know how to mix and applyRead manuals and follow detailed instructions on adjusting equipmentAbility to offer customers proper services needed for their electrical equipmentAssist senior personnel as needed to validate subsystem functionality and electrical design operationAbility to read an wire breakers, switchgear, and MCC's from a point-to-point diagramFollow NETA testing processes of electrical apparatusBuzz out and generate electrical schematics of industrial equipmentTest and troubleshoot electrical wiringAbility to read a one line diagram and properly ground equipment for a safe workspacePerform Evaluation on basic and more advanced electrical devices and circuits, including Circuit breakers, switchgear, MCCB'S, MCC, CT's, PT'S and transformers.Ability to test electrical equipment such as circuit breakers, MCC buckets, MCCB's Switchgear, PT's CT's and TransformersPerform upkeep and maintenance to electrical test equipmentStage test equipment and materials for project executionInterpret test results and provide immediate feedback to project leads and senior personnel for any resolution actions neededQualificationsHigh school or equivalent GED certificationTwo (2) years of relevant electrical experienceClean driving record with no citable accidents within the past 3 yearsCapable of traveling to all Field Service job sitesCapable of lifting 50-poundsPossess good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office programsElectrical theory and hands-on experience (5 years preferred)Troubleshoot electrical circuits and make repairsAbility to wire equipment from schematics, point-point diagramsMechanically inclined, must have your own toolsDetailed oriented, great attitude, team playerAbility to work 50+ hours a week, weekends, support emergenciesMust have ability of good house keep skills of field service area and field service vehiclesTravelMajority of the travel (approx.

70%) will be in the NE region and consist of 1-2 day jobs.Tech must be prepared for weekends and nights as needed or required, or projects that may require overnight travel up to 4-5 nights at times.Additional compensation available for nights and weekends when project requires.
