Sr. Estimator

Title: Sr. Estimator - Heavy Civil (HCSS Heavy Bid) Location: Chagrin Falls, OH Job Type: Full-Time / Permanent - On-Site (Relocation candidates are eligible) Salary: Up to $115,000 per year , depending on experience Candidates with any current visa/work authorization status may be considered , subject to applicable employment requirements.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator with a strong background in Heavy Civil Construction and HCSS HeavyBid to support estimating and preconstruction activities. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with construction takeoffs, bidding, subcontractor/vendor coordination, and developing accurate project estimates.

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience in Heavy Civil Construction estimating.
• HCSS HeavyBid experience is strongly preferred and is the primary requirement.
• Candidates without HCSS may be considered only if they have exceptionally strong Heavy Civil estimating experience.
• Experience with construction takeoffs, bidding, and cost estimating.
• Experience with earthwork, utilities, concrete, site development, or other Heavy Civil scopes.
• Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, scopes, and subcontractor pricing.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Chagrin Falls, OH.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates, bids, and cost proposals for Heavy Civil construction projects.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and review construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
• Solicit and evaluate pricing from subcontractors and vendors.
• Develop scopes of work and bid packages.
• Review project requirements, identify scope gaps, and assess potential risks.
• Support subcontractor negotiations and procurement activities.
• Prepare and manage change‑order estimates.
• Coordinate with project management, field teams, subcontractors, and clients.
• Maintain accurate estimating documentation and project cost information.

Compensation & Work Authorization

• Salary up to $115,000, based on qualifications and experience.
• This is an on‑site position.
• Candidates with any current visa/work authorization status may be considered, subject to applicable employment requirements.

Ideal Background

The strongest candidates will have a combination of Heavy Civil estimating experience + HCSS Heavy Bid , particularly experience estimating projects involving earthwork, utilities, concrete, excavation, site development, and related civil construction scopes.
