Our Client, a Healthcare company, is looking for a Sr. Epic Instructional Designer for their Fountain Valley, CA location.
Responsibilities:
- Client Instructional Design and eLearning Development team is responsible for developing the knowledge and skills of our workforce with a focus on Epic and its many integrations.
- They ensure Client staff can meet current and future business objectives and deliver quality educational services that meet our customers' needs through online and hybrid content. They design courses, develop overall curriculums, produce eLearning, and create supporting education materials.
- They work closely with teams across the organization - conducting needs analyses, developing learning objectives, writing, organizing, and editing content, and applying learning theory to produce customized education solutions. The team uses skills of instructional design and multimedia development to help shape curricular content into coherent instructional modules that employ multimedia and a variety of interactive, web-based tools aimed at encouraging engagement. They work to solve complex content or delivery-related issues in collaboration with Epic analysis and Client technical teams. Instructional Designers/eLearning Developers devise the educational interventions required, to close end user performance gap. They create training programs based on analysis and provide guidance in creating and evaluating the results. Sr. Epic Instructional Designers/eLearning Developers complete the analysis, design, development, and evaluation of Client complex software education program. They help to increase end-user's efficient utilization of core systems (i.e. Epic), to enhance their workflows, documentation, and reporting outputs. Sr. Epic Instructional Designers/eLearning Developers build high quality and effective programs using current methodologies and tools.
- They engage in accelerated learning techniques, instructional design, gap analysis, needs assessment and behavioral coaching for successful program implementations. Sr. Epic Instructional Designer/eLearning Developer work to determine educational objectives and aid in curriculum development to achieve strategic goals and initiatives. They design and develop digital learning experiences, mindful of the end-learner and Client objectives while leveraging best practices in design and adult learning principles. They partner to design and deliver standardized system education programs aligned with operational workflows for a wide variety of audiences addressing team and individual accountabilities.
Requirements:
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience in instructional design and development of web-based and eLearning.
- Experienced with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and integrated tools.
- Demonstrated proficiency in adult learning theory, motivation, and development
- Experienced with technical training development, eLearning development tools, and learning management systems.
- Proven competence in leading and owning education elements of multiple projects, collaborating with various stakeholders, and delivering high-quality products on time.
- Proven success in learning analytics, working to raise the bar on how the team leverages technology to create exceptional learning experiences and measure its impact.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and prioritize, manage, and complete projects with tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of media delivery formats including streaming video, animation, and their integration into a learning management system.
- Experience in content authoring tools, software development, graphic or usability design.
- Proven experience using data and metrics to drive improvements.
- Past success working independently as well as in a team situation while meeting aggressive deadlines.
- Strong understanding of in-person, remote instruction, online and blended pedagogy as well as trends in instructional design.
- Ability to build trust with business leaders to ensure educational deliverables meet and exceed the needs of the business.
- Proven ability to own curriculum and advance course content with minimal direction for ongoing development assignments.
- Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Epic Master train environment (MST) build experience when working with Epic as the primary supported system.
- Education :
- Bachelor's degree;
- OR
- Associate's degree and seven years of relevant experience.
- Required Certifications & Licensure:
- Epic certification in one or more modules (NVT) required.
