Responsibilities
- Design support across all phases of the design cycle, from preliminary through detailed design, validation, manufacturing, and operational service for components within the fan module (cases, frames, IBR’s, bypass ducts, kinematics, etc.)
- Support the existing installed F135 fleet through enhanced commonality and optimization of components to meet current and future business and customer needs.
- Expand repairability/maintainability for the military customer and MRO facilities, collaborating with quality, clinic, and related departments to support test and verification of field issues.
- Design and implement common procedures and standard work across the organization to optimize efficiency and quality.
- Develop data, layouts, sketches, and notes necessary to present design proposals.
- Design and review layouts of components, calculate stack‑up of detail components, and perform major cost studies for new or existing details, ensuring established objectives and budgets are achieved.
- Resolve design problems of complex scope to ensure project completion, and review completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, compliance with standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning.
- Communicate with other engineering personnel to coordinate interrelated design and ensure project completion.
- Provide technical leadership on interdisciplinary technical teams (IPTs) and assist in training less experienced engineers.
Qualifications
- B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 5+ years of mechanical design engineering experience, OR an advanced degree with 3+ years of experience.
- Experience with hardware, reading blueprints, and manufacturing methods.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
Preferred Qualifications
- M.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with engineering standard work.
- Experience with Class I and II EC processes.
- Experience with fault tree investigation tools.
- Proficiency in FEA and/or classical analysis methods.
- Proficiency in Teamcenter and NX.
- Active Government Security Clearance.

Compensation
Salary range: $86,800 - $165,200 USD.
