Sr. Electrical/Electronics Engineer

Position Description & Qualifications If you love high profile and challenging projects supporting the U.S. Coast Guard - Serco has a great opportunity for you! This Sr. Electrical/Electronics Engineer position will be on a dynamic team responsible for Command Control Communications Computers Cyber Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance (C5ISR) Afloat and Ashore based communications support, maintenance, and sustainment on various USCG platforms for our customer in the Charleston, South Carolina area. Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact on our national security. This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain your active Secret clearance. This position is also contingent upon an award of contract. Serco supports the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic, including support for the Command Control Communications Computers Cyber Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance (C5ISR) Afloat and Ashore based communications support, maintenance, and sustainment on USCG platforms. In this role, you will:

  • Provide electrical and electronics engineering support for the design, integration, testing, installation, and sustainment of electrical and electronic systems.
  • Provide electrical engineering support for shipboard C5ISR systems including power distribution, grounding, bonding, cable routing, and equipment rack integration.
  • Develop and review technical documentation including design drawings, schematics, system diagrams, test procedures, technical reports, and engineering change documentation.
  • Support development and execution of Engineering Change / Time Compliance Technical Orders (EC/TCTOs), including site surveys and as-is system baseline collection.
  • Support system requirements analysis, trade studies, and technical evaluations to ensure electrical designs meet performance, safety, and reliability requirements.
  • Perform analysis and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic systems to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Perform electrical load analysis and power impact assessments for new or upgraded systems installed aboard cutters and shore facilities.
  • Support emerging communications and SATCOM systems (e.g., MUOS, KU-Band, PLEO STARLINK/KYMETA, IRIDIUM) from an electrical integration perspective.
  • Support system integration and test activities, including pre-installation checkout (PICO), pre-installation test and checkout (PITCO), and system operational verification testing (SOVT).
  • Support system readiness assessments, technical assistance visits, and CASREP resolution efforts for afloat and ashore platforms.
  • Contribute to Systems Engineering Lifecycle (SELC) documentation and technical artifacts in accordance with DHS and NIWC Atlantic guidance.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards, specifications, and regulations (e.g., MIL-STDs, NAVSEA requirements, IEEE standards, and safety codes).
  • Provide installation planning support, including material staging, integration kit preparation, and coordination with shipyards and installation teams.
  • Provide technical support during Government reviews, inspections, audits, and acceptance activities.
  • Support configuration management and verification that electrical changes are properly evaluated, approved, documented, and implemented.
  • Assist with risk identification, mitigation planning, and continuous improvement initiatives related to electrical system performance and reliability.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor's level degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering with a minimum of 7 years of professional experience.
  • An Active DoD Secret clearance is required to be considered.
  • Hands - on experience with electrical/electronics design, analysis, testing, integration, or troubleshooting.
  • Experience developing and reviewing technical documentation for Government customers.
  • Strong analytical, problem - solving, and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with Government stakeholders, engineers, technicians, and cross - functional contractor teams.
  • Travel up to 10% may be required.
