Senior Director Of DevelopmentStatus: Full-time, exempt Salary: $105,000-$115,000 with benefits Location: Main office in Raleigh, NC; hybrid (2 days in office / 3 remote). Employees also receive a yearly professional development stipend that may be used for Asian language courses and/or other training opportunities.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee and strategically guide NCAAT/IA's Development ProgramCreate and implement an annual development plan, goals, and budget for both entities.Align staff and stakeholders around the plan, manage the execution of the plan, and ensure development goals are metStay current with state and national trends and updates to strengthen fundraising strategy and pitches.Build knowledge of issues impacting Asian communities in NC and of key voting legislation by attending and/or organizing relevant coalition meetings, forums, and other gatherings; use this knowledge to inform fundraising approachFind, pursue, and secure funding opportunities through the prospecting of major foundations and individual donorsOwn the grant writing process and oversee the accurate and timely reporting of deliverables??????

Be the organization's primary grant writer, working to ensure accurate and compelling narratives that tell the story of our organizationHave a strong understanding of NCAAT's program strategy and activitiesKeep up-to-date with all program changes, including meetings with program leads as needed to inform grant writingEnsure that a development team member is coordinating and consulting with other staff to have accurate information for grant proposals, reports, fundraising emails, external communications about our work and fundraising, and identifying highlights, anecdotes, and other stories to lift upOwn, implement, and steer the strategy for individual givingDevelop NCAAT/IA's 5-10 year individual giving pipeline, setting clear metric goals for sustainer growth throughout the years Create a standardized individual stewardship program, complete with recurring newsletter updates and a formal gift acknowledgment processInitiate and cultivate relationships with high-net-worth individual donors, with the end goal of bringing them into our recurring individual donor basePlan and execute high-dollar individual fundraising events, including overseeing and owning our 2026 anniversary gala, as well as events such as fundraising house partiesDevelop and meet yearly individual fundraising dollar goalsSteward Foundation RelationshipsBe the main point of contact for institutional funders within NCAAT's portfolio.Track funder relationships and prospects within our CRM with the Development Manager Keep track of funder information and ensure the organization stays on track with all funder commitmentsKeep track of grant deliverables, communication deadlines, reporting requirements and deadlines, and renewal deadlines within our CRM, EveryActionEnsure all staff who need this information have it, and are submitting relevant information in a timely mannerMaintain a great relationship with all funders and potential funders Respond in a timely fashion to all funder communications, including requests for meetingsIf attending meetings, be prepared to provide accurate updates and thorough report-outs to fundersMake time for funder conversations outside of work hours, if neededInform the Executive Director (ED) immediately of any issues in funder relationshipsBe Senior Leadership Present At NCAAT Conferences And High-Visibility Funding Events/OpportunitiesBeing highly prepared and delivering compelling and effective pitches on relevant programs through speaking engagements and individual conversationsWork with the Development Manager to identify appropriate NCAAT conference attendance and staff participationOwn conference communications with funders for NCAAT leadership, setting and initiating pitch meetings as necessary, while owning follow-upsManage NCAAT/IA's Income And Program Spending For GrantsResponsible for managing the entities' income forecast and tracking fundraising to ensure we are in a good financial position Must be meticulous in financial management and cash flowEnsure NCAAT is staying in a financially sustainable position by flagging any concerns well in advanceMeet with accountants regularly to answer grant and budget-related questions and ensure that the tracking is taking place as neededOversight of program department expenses to track alignment with grant parameters Read and understand all grant agreementsCreate restricted budgets for grants as neededCheck in with the Operations team regularly to understand expenses madeAssist With Board Fundraising And StewardshipBe an active member of the Board fundraising subcommittee, providing meeting agendasOwn the monthly board email newsletter updates, informing Board members of program updates, important information, and actions needed from themAssist with Board development training as needed, including workshops on fundraising best practicesCore Competencies:Prior experience in taking a concept from idea to execution with success.Demonstrated ability to pitch organizational work effectively and write persuasive grants for potential funders and foundationsMeticulously organized and detail-orientedAbility to keep track of a high volume of complex information and a track record of building and maintaining systems that allow you to do so.
