Position Overview
As a Sr. Director in Land Development, you will be responsible for strategic planning, project design, quality assurance, problem resolution, business development, and client management. The role executes project design and management to meet company objectives, collaborates with senior management, and helps develop systems and controls to ensure compliance with quality standards.
A Typical Day Might Include
- Building relationships and growing business in Land Development sector.
- Assisting in the development of business through a marketing company with existing clients and identifying new clients.
- Meeting with existing and potential clients in the development community for business development purposes.
- Attending functions outside of normal business hours to represent LJA at events, seminars, and workshops.
- Leading and managing execution of land development projects.
- Developing scope, budget, and schedule.
- Managing design team performance on assigned projects.
- Assisting in the development of intermediate and long‑range plans for systems operation, maintenance, and expansion to ensure adequate services to customers.
- Reviewing and recommending payment for damage claims against the company to keep positions consistent and legally defensible.
- Reviewing major work orders; approving and justifying construction and operations budgets.
- Preparing reports for and advising senior management on a regular basis regarding departmental activities.
Required Education / Licensing / Certifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer.
Required Qualifications
- 12+ years of managerial experience.
- 12+ years of experience in Land Development engineering.
- Proficiency in appropriate engineering software for the market.
- Excellent attention to detail and impeccable work ethic.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
