Sr. DeveloperLocation: Scottsdale, AZ Duration: + months Visa Type: US Citizen, GC, H-1B Interview Type: PhoneReports to: Director, Information TechnologySummary: The Senior Developer has a significant role in the design, development and implementation of quality technological solutions that satisfy the business requirements. The Senior Developer provides leadership to the development team by providing creativity and innovation, taking responsibility for design, architecture, proto-types, development, systems integration and implementation; employing expertise in emerging technologies, relational databases, user-centered analysis and evaluation techniques.

The Senior Developer also plays a technical leadership role and provides technical direction to the systems development team and helps developers and programmers improve their knowledge and skills.Essential Job Responsibilities:Serves as a team technical leader within the development team.Works with fellow developers, web designers and business to create customer facing and internal serving web applications.Creates new and maintains existing backend 3rd party integrations using Java to support business.Supports and creates customizations of our Association Management System (Aptify) through VB.NET programming.Responsible for configuring and integrating with web content management system, dotCMS.Develops efficient code in a consistent manner with proper supporting documentation.Proactively ensures the quality of front-end code and UI design.Accurately estimates project timelines and scheduled milestones.Participates in gathering business requirements and assessing existing architectures and resources.Communicates effectively, orally and in writing with end users, management and programmers.Analyzes code to find root causes of errors and areas for coding or design improvement.Participates on cross-functional project teams as requiredAbility to integrate existing systems with each other and/or third-party software.Analyzes the business/technical requirements for the design of effective and efficient systems.Performs complex database design, data mapping and analysis, develops data models, coding, testing, checking and debugging of computer programs.Provides advanced technical expertise to support and mentor less experienced programmers.Knowledge and Skill Requirements:Proven analytical, problem-solving skills and prioritization ability, self-directed performerAbility to develop elegant and maintainable systems with minimal complexityMust be able to independently complete assignments and function as part of a larger team consisting of programmers, web content staff, systems analysts, project managers and business units.Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing, and the ability to interact professionally with management and a diverse group of business usersCurrent on the latest developments in system design, development, programming, web technologies.Must have object-oriented programming experience with Java.Must have experience with relational database systems (Oracle and/or MS SQL Server).Other programming language experience is a plus.OOP/OOD experience is requiredMust have experience in developing/prototyping of web GUI applications utilizing various GUI technologies.Must be able to research, experiment, and prototype various GUI technologies in solving GUI challenges.Knowledge of HTML, CSS and Javascript with the ability to help design/mockup/create HTML for an interface that will integrate easily with application logic.Must have web development experience using most of the following: Java, JSP, Servlets, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Apache Tomcat, Apache HTTPD, MS SQL Server, and SQL.Thorough understanding of systems development methodology best practices.Must have excellent attention to detail.Qualifications:BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related degreeMinimum of 10 years of professional Java development experienceProfessional Certifications a plusEnvironment and Conditions: Client is located in a two-story office building. Job demands may require long periods of sitting; telephone work and/or computer work, as well as frequent interaction with staff members and visitors. Customary hours of operation are 7:00am to 4:30pm; work schedules may range from 7:00am to 6:00pm.
