nRole Overview
nUser Experience Designers at our client are tasked with the research, analysis, information architecture, design and spec documents for applications or web pages (products) while improving processes and providing tools for more efficient work for customers and operations. This requires knowledge of human factors, design, research, technology, and financial products in depth as well as attention to detail and the ability to design testable and scalable applications and components.
nWe build websites and solutions for a very diverse audience, which handle large amounts of data and very complicated processes and technical jargon.
nThe designer will see projects through from creation to development and completion, providing guidance to stakeholders, and support to developers, while managing project timelines and following design and UX standards.
nDuring their career with our client, UX designers will grow from individual tasks and fundamental skills to companywide influence and multi team collaboration and indirect leadership.
nEssential Duties and Responsibilities
nOwn the companies design systems, with primary responsibility for our internal design system, maintenance and oversight responsibility for the website design system, and ownership of the design token library, component and pattern design, documentation, and governance, leveraging deep knowledge of Figma design systems, component libraries, variables, and token management.
nOwn the evolution of agentic AI workflows across design and development, building new web applications from the companies component libraries.
nAuthor component specifications and design system documentation built for agent consumption, and apply AI tooling to documentation, mockup review, and design quality assurance.
nServe as the design systems subject matter expert for the company and the UX point of contact for teams adopting them.
nPerform design tasks for assigned business applications, including research, analysis, information architecture, interaction design, prototyping, and specifications, from concept through development and release, delivering accessible, usable, and efficient solutions for data-dense applications and public web experiences.
nPlan and conduct user research, including stakeholder and SME interviews, usability testing, and heuristic evaluation, and translate findings into prioritized design decisions.
nSupport developers on UX-related projects and participate in UI/UX-related code reviews to confirm implementations match design intent and accessibility requirements
nOwn the documentation for design systems, component specifications and workflows, with a particular emphasis on business process efficiency and resources that empower consumers to function effectively without direct UX involvement
nEstimate, schedule, and meet project timelines across multiple concurrent initiatives, escalating risks and dependencies early.
nMentor UX designers, reviewing work, providing actionable feedback, and helping to raise the quality bar across the team.
nExpand UX influence across teams by partnering with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Communications, and Graphic Design to embed UX earlier in product definition and align on shared standards.
nBuild and maintain broad knowledge of our products, markets, and operational processes to ensure that designs reflect real functional workflows.
nAdvocate for accessibility and inclusive design, using heuristic review, analytics, heatmaps, and accessibility tooling to validate and improve interfaces.
nDefine and track UX measures, benchmarks, usability metrics, and KPIs, and use them to drive iterative improvement.
nPresent work clearly to stakeholders and senior leadership, and facilitate interviews and working sessions that produce clear, documented requirements.
nPerform other related duties as required or requested.

nSkills and Requirements
nDegree in HCI, interaction design, graphic design, or equivalent demonstrable knowledge
nMinimum 5 years of experience in a UX design or UX research role, including ownership of complex projects end to end
nExperience owning or co-owning a production design system, including component documentation, token architecture, and governance
nAdvanced experience with prototyping and design tools; Figma strongly preferred, including component libraries, variables, and design token management
nDemonstrated experience applying AI tooling to design or delivery work, prototyping, specification, documentation, or review
nExperience authoring structured component specifications and documentation suitable for consumption by AI agents, or demonstrated strong interest in building that capability
nGood working understanding of HTML, JS, and CSS and familiarity with modern web standards including HTML5 and CSS3, with enough depth to define token architecture and component APIs and to collaborate with engineers
nDemonstrated experience planning and conducting research and stakeholder interviews, and turning the results into design decisions
nExperience designing data-dense professional or enterprise applications, for example, dashboards, workflows, complex tables, and multi-step forms
nPractical knowledge of accessibility standards and how to apply them in design and review
nPortfolio that demonstrates process, including problem framing, research, iteration, and outcomes
nStrong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain and defend design decisions to engineers, product managers, and senior business stakeholders
nExperience mentoring or coaching other designers and influencing without formal authority
