Here, you will make an impact by:Design of feedblocks, dies and other miscellaneous melt processing equipment from initial concept through plant commissioning working closely with product teams, fabrication, process engineers and plant personnelProvide specialized equipment to support the development of new film productsDevelop and deploy new technologies to advance film manufacturing capabilitiesManage project schedules and budgetsAssist in troubleshooting and support of existing manufacturing infrastructureProvide leadership and mentoring to our lab design teamYour Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institutionMinimum of five (5) years of experience in design of process related capital equipmentAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Bachelor's degree w/ 10+ yrs of experience or master's degree in mechanical engineeringProficient with NX (Unigraphics) CAD modeling softwareExperience with ANSYS software and application of finite element modeling techniques to solve structural, thermal and computational fluid dynamic problemsUnderstanding of polymer film manufacturing processes and equipmentExperience with start-up, troubleshooting and commissioning of capital manufacturing equipmentManagement and execution of multiple projects in parallelAbility to work independently or as part of larger cross functional teamStrong verbal and written communication skillsWork location:Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to 3M Center (Maplewood, MN) at least (3) days per week)Travel: May include up to 10% (domestic)Relocation Assistance: May be authorizedMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Supporting your Well-being3M offers many programs to help you live your best life-both physically and financially. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
